Post by: ekg on December 10, 2011, 10:08:48 pm The "giving a good speech" seems to encompass his skill set. not really, he's got a pretty good rating when it comes to handling our enemies, besides the obvious, Do you think GW 1 or Clinton or Reagan could have imagined a Libya that rebelled and ousted Ghaddaffi? he passed healthcare.. which as much as you hate it, he passed healthcare.. I mean, holy shit! He did the un-do-able .. he also upped pell grants,extended bennies to same sex partners working for the gov't, ended DADT,created more jobs this year that Bush did in 8, brought back embryonic stem cell research.. etc etc etc.. so yeah, he's got a lot more skills than you'd like to admit.. additionally, if he had (R) by his name and the above accomplishments, your party would be trying to get his head added to Mt. Rushmore.. my comment was on this speech and what he was talking about.. until he backs up his point with real effort, I will remain a skeptic.. not a skeptic on his whole presidency.. I've said as much on the muche; probably multiple times, that in terms of getting his initiatives passed, he has a record that probably has not been beat since Lyndon Johnson. Of course, he had almost as big a majority in the Congress as Johnson did too. But the substance of what he passed is terrible. Believe me, the future is not going to look at this administration as a success. As the professor says, right now a rerun of the Carter administration looks like a best case scenario. ;D |
