Title: fire the faggot!!! Post by: ekg on May 04, 2012, 08:52:03 am Quote Mitt Romney didn’t exactly fire Ric Grenell, who is gay, as his foreign policy spokesman. But when the religious right got wind of Grenell’s hiring, his job started to shrink. Grenell was told to sit in on conference calls with reporters and not say anything, which is tantamount to firing him. He was told to be silent not merely on gay issues. He was told not to talk about anything, even foreign policy. A spokesman who is not allowed to speak -- even internally -- doesn’t have much of a job. So Grenell quit, three weeks after he was hired. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-05-03/mitt-romney-s-bigotry-needs-no-spokesman.html and yet, the self-loathing Grenell, still supports Romney.. I must ask.. "How". How did he draft statements condemning civil rights issues, like gay marriage, that went against his own self interest? How could he give his voice, if asked, that gays such as himself, can't marry because they would ruin the specter of real marriage? I can't even get in the "Why" of Romney even hiring the openly gay man if he was just going to dump him later when his party got their panties in a twist, I mean, he's done it before (http://www.motherjones.com/transition/inter.php?dest=http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/05/mitt-romney-fire-gay-staffer-ardith-wieworka) so it shouldn't be a surprise to Grenell or anyone else for that matter.. a panderer, with no real convictions is going to do what a panderer with no real conviction is going do.. But how could Grenell or any other homosexual stay in a party that would see them rounded up and euthanized if they could? That's a mystery, I think, that will never be solved.. Atleast this instance puts to rest the idea that Romney's a 'hard- nosed businessman, ready to make the tough decisions that professional politicians won’t'.. and most of all, it proves that hey can be forced to do the bidding of the squealer's in his party.. Post by: uselesslegs on May 04, 2012, 02:34:45 pm The more I hear people, fight against their own best interests, the more I become convinced that it's not so much self loathing as it is people so devout in their ideology, they just don't ignore the conflict...they're immune to it.
Grenell doesn't see himself as an openly gay man doing himself harm with party identification, he sees himself as an openly gay man...doing the right thing. His politics, and outlook therein, trump anything "homosexual." Glory to the cause. The part, that in the grand scheme of things, where he's not ultimately included doesn't truly register, nor even if it did, it won't be anything he looses sleep over...as I said...Glory to the cause. The ideology he and many other Republican homosexuals identify with (their take on spending, taxes, national security, states rights, ect., ect.) is appealing and carries more weight with their overview, than any ultimate exclusion that's in the mix as a party dynamic. Just my two cents. Title: Re: fire the faggot!!! Post by: ekg on May 04, 2012, 10:42:41 pm . Just my two cents. I know what your saying.. I just can't 'see' it.. I'm a woman, I cant change that, so if the GOP was a party that wanted to round up all the women, take away their rights and basically ship them back to an era when women were chattel.. I don't know that I could go along with their low tax promises unless I believe as they do that women were not equal and deserved to hidden under a burka..I would have to hate myself and my sex..to not only stay in the party, but help further its platform.. |
