Title: Unfair?
Post by: ekg on August 03, 2012, 09:04:27 pm
Or what the fuck did you expect?

There's a headline on Drudge whining about "86% of news last week negative against Romney"  and the story linked says

Quote
" Mitt Romney's week-long international trip resulted in unrelentingly negative coverage from the big three broadcast networks, a stark change from the glowing press awarded to then-candidate Barack Obama's world tour in 2008. While Obama was treated like a rock star (from the Associated Press: "It's not only Obama's youth, eloquence and energy that have stolen hearts across the Atlantic...."), Romney endured a focus on gaffes and the trivial.

MRC analysts examined all 21 ABC, CBS and NBC evening news stories about Romney's trip to London, Israel and Poland between July 25 and July 31. Virtually all of these stories (18, or 86%) emphasized Romney's "diplomatic blunders," from his "golden gaffe" at the Olympic games to "missteps" that offended the Palestinians.

so is it unfair that the news talked about his fuck ups? While they praised Obama when he did the same thinG only better?

personally, hell yes it's fair... Romney made himself and the GOP look like hookers who were let out of the whorehouse in the day time.. He fucked up every step of the way... VS. Obama's almost 'Jesus' like crowds that followed him around his euro-trip..like he was their savior..

so how is talking about the success of Obama and the failure of Romney in any way 'negative' or unfair? what? Were the news corps just suppose to ignore it all and not talk about it? I guess that's what Fox did and the gOP'ers on the talk circuit tried to change the topic when they were asked with stuff like "If you think Romney had a bad week, look at Obama.. unemployment is still over 8% and we've had little to no growth".. yes, but Romney shit on entire city of London, pissed off every Palestinian and 'brown' person, was greeted with Ron Paul signs, told a reporter to kiss their ass and stfu, and found out his great tax plan will let millions have tax cuts and make the lesser incomed folks pay $2000 more a year to cover the rich guys..

sorry about your luck bitches, but it's all news worthy..  and not unfair to mention any of it..  because I'll bet that when it was Obama in Europe, Fox news were some negative motherfuckah's about the whole thing.. day after day after day..

Unfair, to me, would be (among other things) items that get thrown to the front of the line as news-worthy that have little of the *worthiness* criteria attached.

Romney is vying for the Presidency of the United States. So you bet your ass I want to know how he represented himself (and us) while traveling abroad as the possible future Commander and Chief.  Maybe there's a contingent of people who don't give a shit HOW we or our top leaders look to the rest of the world...but I do...and many other people who understand that the United States isn't the center of the universe, and that we're not the only world power, do too.

He flubbed. He flubbed it really good.  He managed to piss off just about everyone in England.  He managed to piss the Palestinians off....and he managed to get on the "we're watching you, with disapproval" side of the Polish Solidarity movement.  Three different countries...with a chance to redeem himself with each new visit...and he blew it.

Yes that's freak'in news.  He wants to be the leader who EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD will eyeball...and this was their first looky-loo? Holy ca-ca Batman.
