Title: good ploy or desperation..
Post by: ekg on September 28, 2012, 10:22:42 am
The Romney camp has decided to let us all know.. well not us, they only told supporters and surrogates because that way 'we' would never find out *rollseyes*.. that Mitt will tank the debates because Obama is soo super-duper-fan-fuck-tastically-awesome.. at debating..

It's such an old ploy.. I think they even did it when Palin was going to debate Biden.. Knock your guy down, build the other guy up to a super-man like status.. and if you do marginally well, then you just beat superman.. knowing this is the reason for the memo.. what does it mean? That Mitt's the suck and it's going to be a blood-bath.. or that while Mitt can handle his own, we've pumped O up so much that anything other than a victory of <45% for O is really a loss.. I don't remember them releasing this kind of stuff for the GOP debates.. in fact, I remember all the pundits and 'mitt-surrogates' talking about going into it, Mitt was the shit, he was superior one since he was so well composed and skilled at debating.. that he was the seasoned pro and the others were just rubes..

but now Mitt's the rube?

Team Romney released this memo today.. letting his people know that Mitt's just no match for the divine oracle Barack Obama.. my translations are in color

Re: 2012 Presidential Debates

In a matter of days, Governor Romney and President Obama will meet on the presidential debate stage. President Obama is a universally-acclaimed public speaker and has substantial debate experience under his belt. However, the record he's compiled over the last four years – higher unemployment, lower incomes, rising energy costs, and a national debt spiraling out of control – means this will be a close election right up to November 6th.

Between now and then, President Obama and Governor Romney will debate three times. While Governor Romney has the issues and the facts on his side, President Obama enters these contests with a significant advantage on a number of fronts.
-- O's so awesome that he doesn't need facts, so he'll lie..and facts are all poor, inexperienced Romney has on his side. woe is us.

Voters already believe – by a 25-point margin – that President Obama is likely to do a better job in these debates.
(so if he doesn't win by atleast that, he's really lost) Given President Obama's natural gifts and extensive seasoning under the bright lights of the debate stage, this is unsurprising.(where as Mitt has only been campaigning for POTUS for 5 years, and with the 140 debates he had this year alone, he's just not awesome enough to beat O-but if he does? OMFG,rejoice!because it really is the biblical meeting of Davd v Goliath) President Obama is a uniquely gifted speaker, and is widely regarded as one of the most talented political communicators in modern history. This will be the eighth one-on-one presidential debate of his political career. For Mitt Romney, it will be his first.(so like his wife said recently, please cut him some slack, he is just an regular guy, a Washington outsider and he's going up against Mr. Campaigner/big Gov't himself. This is hard work, if you don't think so you borrow a billion dollars and try it yourself)

Four years ago, Barack Obama faced John McCain on the debate stage. According to Gallup, voters judged him the winner of each debate by double-digit margins, and their polling showed he won one debate by an astounding 33-point margin. In the 2008 primary, he faced Hillary Clinton, another formidable opponent – debating her one-on-one numerous times and coming out ahead. The takeaway? Not only has President Obama gained valuable experience in these debates, he also won them comfortably.
(so anything other than a double-digit win is really a loss for O.. and it would also make Mitt better prepared or more ready for the presidency  than McCain or Clinton)

But what must President Obama overcome? His record. Based on the campaign he's run so far, it's clear that President Obama will use his ample rhetorical gifts and debating experience to one end: attacking Mitt Romney.
(because we've tried to talk only about the issues and our positions, but the big bad O won't let us tell you what it is we're going to actually do)Since he won't – and can't – talk about his record, he'll talk about Mitt Romney. We fully expect a 90-minute attack ad aimed at tearing down his opponent. (meaning, O can't really debate this issues, he can only tear down Mitts, and that's not really fair since he's so good at it)If President Obama is as negative as we expect, he will have missed an opportunity to let the American people know his vision for the next four years and the policies he'd pursue.(you saw it here, everything he says is just going to be a negative attack ad. Not the truth, not the facts, just attacks) That's not an opportunity Mitt Romney will pass up. He will talk about the big choice in this election – the choice between President Obama's government-centric vision and Mitt Romney's vision for an opportunity society with more jobs, higher take-home pay, a better-educated workforce, and millions of Americans lifted out of poverty into the middle class.(when we 'attack' O back,we're just defending ourselves not going negative and when O asks for specifics you'll know he's really just attacking us, because we don't have to give you specifics and you understand that. any questioning how we're actually going to do anything we say we'll do is just the lame-steam media being O's pocket)

This election will not be decided by the debates, however. It will be decided by the American people. Regardless of who comes out on top in these debates, they know we can't afford another four years like the last four years. And they will ultimately choose a better future by electing Mitt Romney to be our next president.

then again, maybe I'm just a cynical bitch..

probably, but I don't think I'm wrong... LOL

I purposely went out of my way to skip your highlighted parts and just do a straight read.  After taking it all in...I went back...and I gotta agree with your take on the between the lines.

These ass wipes are definitely trying to set up "mediocre" as a Hail Mary, a horrible drubbing as "expected", and a win as curing fucking polio!

"You tried your best Billy and you know what?...You did great! Who cares what those other guys think.  We knew those guys were gonna cheat, but you held your own with honor! Great Job!"

I already knew Obama would wipe the floor with Romney. Just wait for Biden. He's gonna make Ryan look like the fool he is.

btw..

when did this become a talking point for the GOP?

"President Obama is a universally-acclaimed public speaker"

"President Obama's natural gifts"

"President Obama is a uniquely gifted speaker, and is widely regarded as one of the most talented political communicators in modern history"

because for the last 5 years..all I've heard is that he's a dumbass who can't even tell time without his teleprompter..

so when did he become 'universally-acclaimed'?

and you're right D.. after reading this shit or listening to Fox (tv or radio).. a bath is the only thing that helps wash the filth off..

It's amazing how they've forgotten all the debates Mitt's been in over that last few years.. I remember the whole GOP nomination process during each and every debate Fox sucked his dick for being so  good at them.. He was the 'it' man to beat..

but now he's gone full retard?

riight..

He's had a silver spoon shoved so far up his ass for his entire life he just doesn't understand "normal people" and never, ever will.  Life in the bubble of the 1%.  JFK pulled it off because he was "human".  He actually gave a shit about people.  What is amazing is that he is losing in this economy because people primarily vote with their wallets.  Ask Jimmy Carter.  It's not so much about his politics.  People just personally fuckin hate him and don't trust him.  They know he's a liar.  You know, just like the King Howey.
