and after making their argument.. they won... I guess money really does trump all when even the Catholic Church argues in court, and possibly all the ay up to the state supreme court, that a fetus isn't a person.. color me shocked. If you asked me prior to this case, if I thought the Catholic Church would have gone down this road or allowed this as their defense to save face...I would have likely said No. But...it doesn't surprise me as much as it should. The only absolutes in the Church (or any religion) are the ones they decide are absolutes, until they make some new ones or need to bend an old one temporarily (and often) to facilitate whatever other hypocrisy they're defending at the moment. |
