What a funny guy. He said if we did not subsidize Exxon, they would go out of business. Of course the corporate welfare is not socialism but if the presidents wife thinks kids are too fat, then that is too much government. I always like to follow the money and then wonder why funny guy Joe Barton made this redonkulous statement.

In the 2007-2008 period of the 110th Congress, Joe Barton has accepted $196,040 from oil companies and $135,549 of those dollars were from industry political action committees. In addition to that, he has accepted $834,386 from oil companies between 2000 and 2007. Also, he has accepted $121,050 from the coal industry, and $119,800 of those dollars were from industry PACS

The dude has gotten a million bucks from oil companies, another example of our bought and paid for politicians. We have corporate welfare and welfare for the poor, all paid for by the middle class.

On fat kids, did you know that school districts are in bed with McDonalds in some areas? It's insane. McDonald's educating about healthy eating. It doesn't exactly take a rocket scientist to figure out how fast food makes bank. It's certainly not from genuine nutrition and quality food being on the priority list. When you look at the calorie count and trans fats of the 'healthy alternatives' those places claimed a while back, it's all bullshit.

And the dollar menus? Gigga please. A steady diet of that crap insures health problems and untold thousands in later medical bills.

You forgot he's also the man who APOLOGIZED TO BP last year. Months before he was named head of the House Energy Committee.
