It seems we are too concerned with left right bullshit, and fucking Zimmerman to see that our rights are getting stripped little by little every year.
Wake the fuck up people.
At least my guy, Grayson voted for the funding to be stopped. Any fuck that voted against it, shat all over the Constitution.

Those that voted for keeping the unconstitutional spying received cash.

Coolest T-shirt ever.

Of course no one cares because this is not some wedge issue, that you can cheer your side on.

It is not about guns, Adam and Steve want to marry, racism, or anything issue where you can yell , libtard, or conservtard.

So you would not be worried if some government official had your bank password? Whats to say, he/she does not have a coke habit and then sells you bank password.
The less people that have my bank password the better. I have mine written down, in case I croak and the babies momma knows them and that is it.

YOu are right, our government has a long history of doing the right thing, nothing to be worried about.

The problem is both sides of the aisle are knee deep in donor money for this shit, so neither side has nobody to bitch about, so it gets swept under the rug and the bias news channels have no one to direct their sheeps rage.
IF Moma Grizzly said something stupid, there would be 100 websites comments sections blowing up about it.

Grayson is pretty awesome.

My representative voted to stop the collection; he's a total tea-bagger-do-nothing, but in this case I actually agreed with him. Felt very weird...

US government now monitors every single thing you do on the internet. They can read your Facebook chats, every fucking thing you do. I cant wait for the video camera in every room in my house, so I can be watched 24 hours a day by my government.
Since our government has never done anything to not be considered trust worthy, I guess all this is no big deal.

It all started with the 9/11 shit by Bush.  Once you give govt. more power, and control it's almost fucking impossible to get it back.  Those we elect, more so pubs, no longer govern for us.  It's all about padding their pockets, and helping those who help pad their pockets.  The entire god damned system in now totally corrupt, and we're all stuck with the party of pussies, and the party of psychos.  What I can not possibly comprehend is that pretty much every one says congress sucks huge rotten balls but keeps re-electing the same fucking assholes time, and time again???  I just can't rap my head around that.  The two party system has totally failed, and wont change until some multi-billionair tooth fairy  decides to throw billions at starting a third party that actually represents, and gives a fuck about "the people".  I'll hold my breath on that one.

You don't have to wait...

as a matter of fact...when it happens...if its not already

the masses will be the one to provide the video access...

the gov wont have to do anything but link to our electronica we keep in our homes and on our hips...

that covers audio and video...

just because you cover the webcam on your laptop doesn't
mean and audio recording program isn't running...

Everything has been monitored since its inception...

let me try that again...

Everything approved for patent has a built in backdoor for gov access...

I know....you hope i'm full of shit....

you probably think IBM copiers never made duplicates on each machine that was recovered during routine maintenance...
or when the machine malfunctioned and required a tech to come in and fix it...

you probably never imagined the copier was programmed to fail after a certain amount of data was stored...

and this was in the fucking fifties...

before wireless was exploited...and there was no longer a need for on site recovery of data...

not that I will admit to having any first hand knowledge of this fantasy I proposed...concerning IBM

Quote
One hundred times a week, groups of six armed men drive to houses in three black SUVs, conducting consented-if-casual searches of the property perhaps in part because of things people looked up online.

heh, that'd actually be hilarious... scary, but hilarious..

here's the way I see.. There has to be a filter somewhere.. I know just in talking to Chuck he and I have both used every 'buzz' word there is... terrorism-assassination-automatic rifle-sniper-scopes-fannypacks-C4... etc etc etc..we've even joked "Oh, I bet they're listen now".. but nothing, no black helicopters, no 6 black SUV's.. nothing..

I've googled so many things that if a loved one were murdered by an unknown assailant, I'd be 1st on the list of suspect as soon as LEO searched my history.. and still, no SUV running around the area that aren't supposed to be here..

so there has to be a filter.. something that separates me and my phone calls/internet searches from the people, well like in your pressure cooker article..I don't know what that is, but there must be something or I think most of us on this site would have been visited already..

to your greater point... RE gov't invasion of privacy. This coincides with what I was saying about FB,instagram,twitter... when we as a society hand over every last morsel of information about our selves to the internet, do we have any expectation of privacy left?

we as American have been convinced that the private sector being in possession of our information is johnny fine...

but the big government having it is just gonna do us in...

big government buys the information from private sector companies...

its not that they haven't been selectively snooping around forever... its just how can they gets us to

think we need the protection and demand it... so big gov can finally use that which they weren't suppose to have...

without fear of reprisal from the masses before it becomes public without consent...

I've said it before, but most American's expect a level of *protection* that helps drive this kind of push by our Government (not that it would need much to nudge it in that direction anyway).

And as Kell said, a shit ton of American's put damn near everything thing from the last blowjob they got/gave, to other pretty friggin personal information (home, work, kid's school, dentist, doctor, mom's maiden name, first cousins job, ect., ect.) along with all manor of pics, dates, times...and they get all incredulous. "Stop looking at my shit! I have it set to Friends Only/Private!"  Ummmmm, yeaaaaahhhh. Because that little click, on the internet, changes everything.../*facepalm*

People want to believe President Obama's done gone batshit crazy with snooping, over and above what the *programs* were designed to do. "Bush knew where to not step over the line!" Hate to tell ya...the only thing separating Bush and Obama, was the tech available at the time and the implementation. That's it.

Finding a balance that will keep American's happy, will involve a *realistic* level of protection, that will probably see a few more terrorist types slip through the cracks and American's won't tolerate that! We can have 30 thousand drunk driving deaths, 30 thousand fire arm related deaths, X-amount of crazy ass mass murder sprees...eh. But if some shit blows up? Holy fuckin horse cunt!...the innocents! The chiillldreeennn! OMG!  Put this whole muther fucker on lock down!

So despite all the complaining, indignant shock, red faces and bulging neck veins...it's all just a show. Let some shit go BOOM...and people go weak kneed...and demand a level of protection that demands some super invasive shit to attain it.  Pretending like *they* shouldn't be swept up in the overkill on privacy invasion.

The Happy Balance everyone wants will probably involve the occasional BOOM. Because like it or not...this is a crazy world and some crazy muther fuckers want to kill us. The Protection everyone wants, negates the Happy Balance, with less BOOMS, but more privacy invasion. The Happy Balance everyone wants to pretend is achievable, for the level of Protection they demand...doesn't exist. But we won't go there...because the BOOMS scare the shit out of us.

I think most people simply don't care about gov't snooping until it's the news.. and then, if the one being 'snooped' looks like

they say to each other "Well, duh.. of course he was going to be snooped"..and they go about not caring any more..

I think when Obama had the American al-Awlaki killed many people had a gut check. I know I did. I thought about it.. I thought about what my reaction would have had it been Bush. I listened the lil mike in my head tell me if it had been Bush I'd be apoplectic over it.. I really did give it thought and I decided that I was OK with it no matter who did it.  I just couldn't muster the outrage over it that I saw from the right and other liberals... But I'm also agree with the death penalty so maybe that has something to do with it.. I just kept thinking about what Bush said after 9/11.. his 'bullhorn moment'.. when he said..

"I can hear you!".... "The rest of the world hears you! And the people  who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon."

and I simply didn't give a shit that this guy was American. To me, he gave up his rights as an American when he turned against his country the way he did....

Nutty, I get where you're coming from.. in fact, if it was a different time I'd probably be right there with you bitching and screaming.. but  when I was thinking about the posting of kids/info the other day I really had to decide whether or not people  give a shit any more about their privacy.. and if they don't, should I give a shit about their privacy.. and then BoH made a great point about us giving everything over to Big Business, so why should we care if Big Brother asks Big Business for a solid every now and then..

I don't know if it's technology.. I don't know if it's post 9/11 & pat act.. I don't know if it's just that it's been so long since we've seen a modern-day Hitler or Stalin who would use our ignorance of rights against us.. or is it obama-bashing fatigue..(not that you're bashing Obama, I get it's both sides you're bitching about)... but at this moment in time.. I just don't think the American people can muster enough irritation to stop the slide..  and as Chuck pointed out, the next big Boom will have them running for the hills signing their 1st born over to whomever promises to keep them safe the fastest.. and frankly, I don't put it past a secret-6 or whatever to set off a bomb in time square just to pass more right-killing bills..

I don't know what the future's going to look like.. but with all the information we give up freely already, it's going to be interesting that's for sure.. ;)
