Title: Will the Blunders Never Cease?
Post by: Howey on March 13, 2011, 05:21:40 pm
Ripping the crown off Sarah Palin's head and running towards the 2012 nomination as the first dumb bitch to run for President, meet Michelle Bachmann, mother of 5, surrogate mother to 23 free campaign workers:

Michele Mangles Revolution (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/03/12/bachmann_mangles_revolutionary_history_in_nh_109213.html)

Quote
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's visit to the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire got off to a rocky start on Saturday morning when she misstated a key fact about the American Revolution in a speech to a group of local conservative activists and students.

"What I love about New Hampshire and what we have in common is our extreme love for liberty," the potential GOP presidential candidate said. "You're the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord. And you put a marker in the ground and paid with the blood of your ancestors the very first price that had to be paid to make this the most magnificent nation that has ever arisen in the annals of man in 5,000 years of recorded history."

In fact, the 1775 Battles of Lexington and Concord that marked the first military engagements of the American Revolution took place in Massachusetts. But Bachmann did not correct her error when she referenced the battles again later in her speech.

Oops! What do the Republicans do? Do they have farms up north where they breed stupid?

you need to be careful with this one and not just 'palin' her off to the side just yet. I've seen a cpl 'talks shows' where tea party members scoff at the ridiculousness of Palin running for potus, while they all want and would back Bachman..

scary fucking thought right there..

Bachmann was, of course, the first one to suggest that current Medicare and VA disability recipients lose their benefits. Didn't go over too well.

I'm sure she didn't suggest taking away the $25k per month paid to her for indoctrinating her "foster" children.  ;)

It's like she's channelling Ms. Barracuda!

It's all the left-wing medias fault! (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/15/michele-bachmann-revolutionary-war-gaffe_n_836025.html?fbwall)

Quote
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) tried Tuesday to explain away her recent Revolutionary War gaffe delivered during an appearance in New Hampshire over the weekend, saying that the only reason the media covered it was because of its anti-conservative "double standard."

"I made a mistake; I should've said Massachusetts rather than New Hampshire," she said on the Laura Ingraham show Tuesday, according to The Hill. "We all know that there's a double standard in the media," she continued, before claiming that "all 3,400 members of the mainstream media are part of the Obama press contingent."

Fresh from the dumb farm!

I'd fuck her, just cause.

She'd either leave your spine snapped...or complain she's got exactly 19 minutes of free time, so hurry up.

She's to extreme to be middle of the road in bed.

I think she'd fuck you so well you'd want to bottle her as drug and sell it..  she's totally got that "RIDE ME big BOY!" thing going on in her..

otoh, I  think Palin would be the one going "Tooddddd, hurry up you're wrinkling my new Chanel.." and be staring at the ceiling, her watch, the tv...and  "hrrmpph" you through the whole nightmarish experience..

I used to like Huckabee before he went full Tea-tard about a month ago. He did some good work as the governator of Arkansas. Looks like flip flopper Romney is losing some ground and Peggy Hill is losing votes as well.

I use to like him also. He used to be a regular on Real Time w/Maher. He was always religious but never an extremists.. He made a lot of great points on Maher's show. I didn't always agree, but I don't expect to agree with every pol 100%. But he seemed well-rounded enough to where I wouldn't just ignore him as President just because he wasn't in my party..

but now? he's gone so far over to the extreme that I put him somewhere below Palin...

The worst part is his is so likeable and friendly looking..  he could still give any (R) canidate a run for their money.. and if he doesn't enter the fray, Bachman will pick up his 'people' and add them to hers.. and I think we could see a 3-way run between her,Mitt and Pawlenty..

I am disappointed in my girl Sarah. She petered out long before I thought she would. I was certain she would make it to the primaries.. but when she did that video playing the victim after Giffords was shot, she really fucked herself.. :'(

What also gets me is Newt went up a 1% after his Libya flip flop. Newt was in the beginning 100% behind the no fly zone. Obama announces a no-fly zone and Newt is like Obama is for it. I am now against the no fly zone and the US needs to stay out. If only Obama was for cheating on Newt's sick wife then Newt would have keep his Lyndon Johnson in his pants.
I hope Newt does not get stressed out over the media pointing out his flip flops, because Newt said when he gets stressed, "It is cheating/adultry time"

Newt only cheats because he loves America so much.

That, by the way, is the perfect all American excuse.

I'm surprised that Newt seems to be throwing his hat in the ring.  He has credibility as a policy and idea guy, but as a politician, he tends to make the most pandering and overtly political statements.  When it's so obvious that even your target audience gets it, it's not going to help your election chances with the people you are trying to reach. I just don't see how you get all the way through primary season switching back and forth between positions like for/against the no fly zone.

She strikes again! (http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0411/Bachmann_misquotes_Lincoln.html)

Quote
A sharp reader notes that Michele Bachmann's speaking cameo in Newt Gingrich's latest film about history has a misattributed quotation — mangling Lincoln and adding a twist of Kennedy when she says, "Will this latest generation, as Abraham Lincoln so famously said, will this latest generation hand that torch of liberty to the next generation?."

The reader notes:

President Lincoln did, in fact, use the phrase "lamp of liberty," in his debates with Douglas: "I leave you hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal."

Even if you gift the substitution of torch for lamp, Lincoln didn't say anything about passing it from one generation to another.

That was Kennedy.

Kennedy said "that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans" in his 1961 inaugural. Bachmann also recently drew mockery for confusing Massachusetts and New Hampshire when discussing the Revolutionary War.
