I'm talking about Rick Scott's nightmares known as unemployment, food stamps, and Medicaid. Where are the teabaggers bitching about them? After all, they've been around for years. Except for Scott's new unemployment system (http://www.news-press.com/article/20131016/BUSINESS/310160025/Unemployment-benefits-site-off-rough-start). It's a day old and not working. Quote Florida’s new system for managing unemployment benefits started late, crashed and delayed at least some users for several hours and moved slowly when it was working Tuesday. The $63 million system, called CONNECT, launched at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday and appeared to be working reasonably well until crashing at about 10 a.m., said Susan McManus, director of the Southwest Florida Works center in Fort Myers. The previous computer system shut down Oct. 9. “People were putting in their information and seemed to be doing well because the process works almost exactly like the previous system,” McManus said. “But then the system went down.” Computer users who were logged in saw their information pages replaced with an error screen and a spinning icon as the system stalled. People were turned away from the lab and told to try again in a few hours. The runaround jb and I are getting trying to get him some medical care since his hospitalization is horrible. |
