Title: How Is This Obama's Fault? Post by: Howey on October 25, 2013, 10:33:03 am The latest manufactured outrage from the right involves a call Hammity made to an ACA hotline (http://www.ijreview.com/2013/10/89732-sean-hannity-give-years-salary-operator-fired-saying-one-likes-obamacare/) the other day. Apparently, he asked the operator on the other line if anyone calling her had said they "liked Obamacare". She responded "No, not really".
Apparently the woman was "fired by Obama" following this transaction, hence all the outrage. Being one not suffering from kook-aid induced (sp intended) right wing hysteria disorder, I find more holes in this "story" than in a slice of Swiss cheese. A. Most obviously, the woman, one Erling Davis, wasn't fired by Obama. She was employed by a private call center in Panama City, Fl. B. if I owned a call center taking calls on...say, Shark vacuums, I'd fire any employee stupid enough to criticize the product I'm selling. C. Why would anyone call an ACA call center if they're opposed to the ACA? D. How many more of those like Hammity and his ilk are clogging phone lines to keep real people from calling in? E. In this age of the internet, how in the hell can google have no record of the name "Erling Davis"???? Title: Re: How Is This Obama's Fault? Post by: ekg on October 25, 2013, 11:10:48 am D. How many more of those like Hammity and his ilk are clogging phone lines to keep real people from calling in? I wonder the same thing... How many, who hate the ACA, are clogging the website and call centers... and the funny thing about all of it, that I'd love to know... just how many who openly hate the ACA still signed up for it when they saw how much they'd be saving.. or how they could cover their children.. or how they could cover their pre-existing condition.. of course we'll never know and they'll never admit it, but ya know they're signing up... because they don't mind it for themselves it's those 'others' they don't want to have it.. ;) Title: Re: How Is This Obama's Fault? Title: Re: How Is This Obama's Fault? Post by: uselesslegs on October 25, 2013, 05:44:23 pm I agree. Once again with the fake and manufactured outrage.
I especially agree with the Shark Vacuum analogy/comparison. Who in their right fucking mind (if true) wouldn't think they'd lose their job, at the place they're working for, if they were recorded or caught bad mouthing the place or product to customers or the public? This sounds entirely too cynical, but I really have almost no problems or reservations in thinking that there are many individuals out there, more than happily (with purposeful intent) adding to problems that already exist...or trying their damnedest to create extra issues that don't. As an example...here's a lovely interview with Rep. Marsha Blackburn on CNN. The reason for her interview (or what CNN believed constituted the interview) was that she's concerned about *privacy issues* as they pertain the to ACA website. And in show of glorious doublespeak *suggestion without substance*, she goes balls to the wall. It is literally amazing to watch the professional level ducking and weaving she employs. I'm getting so tired of this shit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJxjFicAG90 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJxjFicAG90) Title: Re: How Is This Obama's Fault? They're trying to 'al capone*' the ACA now with this 'hipaa' shit... Forbes flayed them for it.. Quote While Ms. Campbell consistently responded that the website did not violate HIPAA requirements, Rep. Barton wasn’t interested in anything resembling facts. It was exactly the sort of ignorant performance we’ve come to expect from so many GOP Members of Congress based on their theory that when you don’t know the facts or understand the law, it is best to bang your shoe on the table loudly and hope that someone just might pay attention to you. In this instance, no matter how hard Barton bangs or barks, it will not make his argument any better when it comes to the real world where those of us who are not Members of the House GOP caucus live. It will also not protect Mr. Barton from being exposed as either a completely dishonest participant in the hearings or, put simply, wholly and completely ignorant of the law he sought to use to make his point. http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2013/10/25/claims-that-obamacare-website-violates-health-privacy-reveals-embarrassing-fact-gop-does-not-understand-hipaa-or-obamacare/ it goes on to explain why the gOP are just retards and how they're showing their retardness in blazing colors... and I am also getting so.... sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking tired of it...... It's starting to affect how I feel about 'normal' Republicans.. I mean, if the 'normal' ones can't or won't stand up to this bullshit then what fucking good are they? what can the ever offer to anyone other than more of the same bullshit? ugh. * the Law tried every which way to sunday it 'get' Capone and never could, until they finally got him on a measly 'tax evasion' charge... the GOP is trying to do the same to the ACA... |
