Title: He Let Them Keep Their Plans Post by: Howey on November 14, 2013, 04:22:08 pm So Obama has this great idea to let those of the 5% whose plans are about to be cancelled to keep them (http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/4274051/) for a year.
The pubs should be ecstatic, right? puhleeze! (http://m.weeklystandard.com/blogs/fairy-tale-continues-obama-proposes-extralegal-obamacare-fix_767089.html) "Under the White House’s approach, the Department of Health and Human Services will notify the nation’s state insurance commissioners that they have federal permission to allow consumers who already have such insurance policies to keep them through 2014," reports the Washington Post. He'll also be forcing insurance companies to help advertise for Obamacare by letting customers know that there's an Obamacare marketplace where they can purchase (or get subsidized) health care coverage. Obama's proposal is an extra-legal solution to a big problem for millions of Americans around the country. Title: Re: He Let Them Keep Their Plans Post by: paddymcdougall on November 14, 2013, 05:40:35 pm how can they complain if he fixes the problem?
and why do they want to keep their crappy policies? Title: Re: He Let Them Keep Their Plans Post by: ekg on November 14, 2013, 08:47:06 pm he made a mistake doing this.... I know his hearts in the right place but he just admited Obamacare is a failure and weak Dems will be speaking out against it soon.. Boehner's already lining up another repeal vote and it'll have Dem support on it..
he also just gave the Right what it wanted.. now the rhetoric is only going to get worse.. "If he'll give these people an extra year, why doesn't give everyone an extension".. next on Fox you'll be seeing people who don't want Obamacare and are being forced out of their trailers because they have to pay for it (but when you dig into you'll see that's FOS too) complaining that they too should get an extension.. Pandora's box just opened.. :-\ Title: Re: He Let Them Keep Their Plans Post by: uselesslegs on November 14, 2013, 11:38:01 pm Agree. He described it in such a way that "repair" doesn't come to mind, but broken, without much hope of fixing. Which, as you said, is exactly the incensed, "I told ya", language the far right and Fake news will pound the moon sized drum on. It's more than fixable, but the insurance lobby and far right will make sure they pour a gallon of gas on a match. |
