Title: I knew there was a catch
Post by: ekg on February 12, 2014, 01:00:10 pm
so remember not too long ago the do-nothing congress actually came together and passed a bi-partisan budget written by Paul Ryan and Patty Murray? it was a huge deal for this congress.. I mean a bi-partisan anything was huge, but an actual budget?  whooooaaaaa

well, not so fast... there's a catch to it.. because now those same assholes who voted for the budget.. refuse to allow the spending that's in the budget the voted for..

Quote
WASHINGTON -- A large number of House Republicans voted against raising the nation's borrowing cap Tuesday, even though they supported a budget in December that required a debt ceiling increase. And an even larger number voted exactly a month ago for the omnibus bill that actually made that spending law.

Those same assholes that are always whining about Obama usurping power and breaking laws.. are doing exactly the same thing... fucking hypocrites I tell ya!

Quote
A total of 201 lawmakers cast votes against allowing the U.S. Treasury Department to borrow more money to pay for the bills that Congress had voted to incur. Of those, 139 had previously voted for the budget bill authored by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) that set spending levels at $1.012 trillion in 2014 and $1.014 trillion in 2015. And 143 of them voted for the spending bill that appropriated the funds laid out in that budget.

While a debt ceiling hike with no strings attached was always going to be unpopular among Republicans, by voting against it, many members contradicted their support for the Murray-Ryan budget. The names of those members, including Ryan himself, are below. Reps. John Barrow (D-Ga.) and Jim Matheson (D-Utah), the only two Democrats who opposed the debt limit bill, also voted for the budget and the appropriations.

even Ryan voted against it..

wtf are these crazy people still doing in office?

Like we've all been saying for awhile now, those entities will either knowingly or ignorantly let this country burn before they allow anything even remotely perceived as something positive for Dems or *working together* happen.  They can't do it.  They (enough of the loons) literally see those sitting across the aisle from them as individuals to be opposed, regardless, or enemies.

We've already got enough bullshit to deal with, with career politicians and newer ones (both parties), who also happen to think getting rich and appeasing big monied donors is more of a priority than the welfare of the majority. Now we have to deal with conspiracy nuts and party purists who are convinced patriotism is squashing and fearing everything that isn't a direct reflection of themselves.

This shit is koo-koo man.

I hope they take their ball and head home, and let us have some decent representation...

My rep (McClintock) of course voted against it.
