Quote Report: Warren to be passed over as nominee to head Consumer Bureau http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/07/15/report-warren-to-be-passed-over-as-nominee-to-head-consumer-bureau/ Bloomberg News is reporting as of Friday evening that President Obama has chosen somebody other than Elizabeth Warren to be nominated as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. According to the report, which is based on an anonymous source, an unidentified individual who already works at the agency will be nominated instead. me thinks he made a deal with House Rep for their cooperation on the debt-limit.. by the time he learns nothing he can do will make them like, listen to, or help him or the country out.. there won't be a single (D) supporter left on his side. I am getting very very tired of defending this guy..why give him a congressional majority when he refuses to use it? why give his ultra support when he just tosses it aside to get support from those who will never support him?why expect any 'change' in the future? he needs to hope the GOP doesn't run someone with atleast more sense than Bachmann/Palin..and more 'draw' for the GOP than Romney Title: Re: Thanks Obama, Post by: betteroffhere on July 16, 2011, 03:13:10 pm i don't get frustrated with him as an individual....although....eh....nevermind
if it was up to me... i'd damn near wipe the slate clean and start over... with a new constitution... More than ever before, bogging down the courts. Don't blame the guy who tried to do the right thing. Title: Re: Thanks Obama, Post by: Howey on July 19, 2011, 10:04:12 am I wonder if this (http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/in-a-quiet-moment-gay-judge-makes-history/2011/07/18/gIQAo7PhMI_story.html) was part of the deal...and how many more deals are forthcoming.
Note: The following is a quote: Quote The remarkable thing about what happened on the Senate floor Monday night was that it was utterly unremarkable. The matter under consideration — the nomination of the first openly gay man to serve on the federal bench — would at one time have been a flashpoint in the culture wars. But Paul Oetken was confirmed without a word of objection on the Senate floor and with hardly a mention in the commentariat. Even some of the chamber’s most ardent social conservatives — Tom Coburn, John Cornyn, Jeff Sessions, Jon Kyl — cast votes for Oetken. When the lopsided vote tally of 80-13 was read out, there was no cheer or reaction of any kind. Senators continued their conversations as if nothing unusual had happened.
