Title: Rick Santorum and the 10th admendment.
Post by: 44nutman on August 12, 2011, 06:56:35 pm
Rick Santorum went full God Warrior. He attacked the 10th admendment and equated the passing of gay marriage laws would lead to passing of laws that would force sterilization and polygamy. Hyperbole party of one. I am suprised he did not pull out people will be marrying their pets card. I give him a 9 out of 10. If he somehow would have equated gay marriage to Nazism, I would have given him a full 10 on the God Warrior scale.

I have always noticed the guys who complain the most about gays are the same ones who own all of Gloria Gaynors albums. IYKWIM

Santorum and his far right religious ilk (who could think of a better word for them?), including Bachmann, as well as the Federalists out there, feel the Constitution shouldn't regulate anything we do...unless it deals with social issues.

I'm not that concerned with Santorum (he'll never go anywhere) as I am Bachmann, who (like Palin) is hiding her extreme stupidity, homophobia, and bigotry behind a female face that the right wing males jack off to, wishing their own wifes would be as submissive.

After reading the "back and forth" on the Politico comments section (with this story) I noticed that "Hypocrisy" seemed to elude many as to not only it's definition, but how it's different than...oh say, Ole Wieners fall from grace.

"Same thing dude!"  No, not the same thing at all.  One individual lied to his constituents and broke his marriage vows.

One individual broke his marriage vows and partook of something that is the primary center piece and reasoning for legislation that seeks to disqualify (and make illegal) the ultimate expression of that actions love...homosexual marriage.

I saw the spin fast at work, "Look dude, he could be denying to himself that he's gay, and that's fine, but it has no bearing on whether his stance on gay marriage is now somehow tainted or hypocritical.  Heck, there's tons of gay people who don't think homosexual marriage should be allowed either."  And I would point out many of those, even those who came out of the closet, who still think marriage among themselves should be off the table...are the result of what happens when a bigoted portion of our society wants to legislate love between two consenting adults and are relentless trying to convince homosexuals that "somethings wrong with them", "they're wrong, they're evil, they're an abomination."

It's no different than those who rail/railed against racially mixed marriages or marrying outside of your faith.  They brow beat them, they disqualify anything THEY don't approve of, they make them not only feel like a piece of shit, but that they are different than the rest of society...different like a murder, different like someone who partakes in bestiality, different like a pedophile...they not only make sure they regard themselves as such, but that they're regarded as such in society as well.  So it's no wonder, even a contingent of the gay community side with hypocrites like that Rep. because they've been mentally abused by this sort of bigotry since their earliest memories.

I, myself, STILL struggle to this day to be free, mentally, of the particular brand of religious indoctrination I got as a child/young teen that was only "loving" based on conditional manipulation.  God is all loving, "tell a nigger joke."  God wants you to be well, live well, "fuck those poor people."  God doesn't make mistakes, "all those faggots are gonna burn in hell."  God has a greater plan, "everyone not like us should be suspect, feared."  It's universal.  Whether you bow on a rug or throw your hands up in the air, there's so many people hell bent on having you live a life, they never will.  But, as long as they can make YOU live as they dictate, their beliefs have validity...and so do they.

I think a 12 pack is in order. *burp*

I watched the GOP debate and Santorium was on a 'spew' about abortion and how he was THE pro-life candidate because he doesn't even want abortions for rape.. because you see, why 'victimize' a rape victim twice.. ya know, because forcing her to have her rapists baby, even if she's only 10 years old, isn't victimizing her... it's really setting her free to live out God's will..

I almost broke my TV at that point of the debate..

but all in all... it was better than WWE's Monday night Raw.. HA!  I mean, I haven't seen that much mud slingling and back-handing since Hulk V Macho Man V  ;D

yep..

and it's too bad they brought Ron Paul down with them... I have always liked the old koot. He's got some pretty outstanding ideas that even liberals can get behind.. but, this time around he sold out and  went 'right-wing'

Quote
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul began his speech in Ames, Iowa on Saturday by railing against abortion.

"There is something that precedes liberty, and that is life," the Texas congressman said. "I believe in a very limited role for the government, but the prime reason that government exists in a free society is to protect liberty and also to protect life, and I mean all life

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/08/14/congressman-ron-paul-attacks-abortion-in-ames-speech/

That's right Ron, you want your limited gov't to allow people to do the drugs they want at their own risk.. but that same gov't to decide and police  what the patient and her doctor should be deciding..

shame..

Quote
"If we are to defend liberty and allow people to spend money as they want, to go to the church they want and run their lives as they please, you have to understand where that liberty, and where that life comes from. It does not come from the government, it comes from our creator."

yep, if we are to allow all that.. then we must stop women from living their medical lives the way they want and make them live the lives the gov't and a few old men decide they should live..

shame shame..

That sound you hear is Nutty sobbing...

I never, ever, ever thought I'd see the day Paul Sr. would start pandering to the fringe evangelical kooks. That would be like Ralph Nader hollering out "Bomb, bomb Iran!"

When pandering for the vote on the far right, anyone who seriously wants to be noticed HAS to put on the tin foil hat.
