Title: Repub debate
Post by: ekg on September 08, 2011, 09:30:28 pm
The best part of the debate was the 'science' question... or more to the point, the climate change question.. to defend his stance that every day scientist come out saying "it's not man's fault'.. and his claim that even tho 98 out of 100 scientist say so, the 'science just isn't settled yet'.. Rick Perry said this little gem.. he said that even Galileo  "got outvoted for a spell"

ummmm hm.. why yes, yes he did.. he got 'outvoted for a spell' by the religious freak-nut-jobs who refused to believe the science because in their religion-deluded minds,  the sun revolved around the earth.... so they tried Galileo for heresy, thuis 'outvoting him for a spell'...

nice fail Gov Perry!

thank god Texans can be entertaining Presidents anyway..

I thought the same thing when I heard the response.  I was like, "Did you just really use the churches suppression of Galileo's scientific findings, to *validate* your reasoning as to why acceptance of climate change isn't unanimous?"

I felt like saying, "Yea! Like that guy who thought the black plague was coming from rats (close, it was fleas ON the rats) who were attracted to unhygienic filth in the streets and homes...what a complete moron!  EVERYONE knows it comes from a conjunction of 3 planets and bad air!

The entire debate was a travesty that raped the minds of intelligent, thinking people. The only person who even seemed remotely palpable was Huntsman, and although he would be the perfect Republican candidate for 1980, in today's teabagger infused insanity that is the Republican Party he's a no-show.

I hate to say this, but gawd...Bush is smarter than Perry!

Bachmann was subservient, as any good republican christian woman should be and pretty much kept her mouth shut. She's history.

Paul acted like the crazy old man next door swinging his cane at the neighborhood kids to get off his grass.

I had to giggle every time I heard Romney, the guy whose career centered around firing people, talk about creating jobs. Yeah, right...

Speaking of Romney, his IQ may be 10 pts. higher than Perry. Not a good thing...

Cain is looking more and more like the Uncle Tom I inferred long ago, not Harriet Tubman as he wishes. If Ron Paul had fucked his black maid and made a kid, it would be Herman Cain.

The rest? Just another bunch of radical nutcases.

It doesn't matter.

After last night's speech, they're all history (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/post/obama-goes-big--and-should-stay-big/2011/09/08/gIQAW8hgDK_blog.html).

That was funny.

Paul, who I like some of his ideas turned into crazy Uncle Ronnie last nite. The AC blather was disheartening. Still like Dr. Pauls foreign policy but can't our boys/girls in the military have some AC.
Huntsmen, I like him alot but he needs to start God Warrioring it up or he has no prayer.
Newt is a smart guy and is really good at explaining his ideas but is a dirtball.
Bachman and Santorum still think Galileo is a liar. I am pretty sure Bachmanns husband knows the definition of Santorum.
Mitt reminds me of John Kerry and Al Gore. They are just too polished and really don't have an opinion. They say what you want to hear.
Perry is the right wing media darling even though he does not know the correct defintion of a Ponzi scheme. Good luck winning Florida with that attitude.

I've got a feeling, Perry will get the nom nod.  Don't ask why.  I just have a feeling that the fire and brimstone will win out over moderate.

What we are watching is the self-destruction of the Republican Party as we've known it. I could see it in Boehner's eyes last night...

"Why in the hell did we cave in to these crazy obstructionist teabaggers and let them take over the Grand Ol'? Now if we try to stop this jobs bill America will blame us."

Since the pub debate and last night's speech, all I've read is any, any! reasonable person would see right through the Perry's, Santorum's, Palin's and Bachmann's out there. They can't. The funny thing is only about 10-15 percent of the Republican Party follows the Tea Party mantra.
