Seriously, ekg? The the one TRUE survivor... got his ass handed to him on a platter by those two? Right up there with one of my favorite Survivor moments ever... Now. He will be going to Redemption Island and duking it out with Pretty Jesus Boy (who's looking a little ragged now, huh?) and we'll see how things go from there. Unfortunately, Russell won't have anymore stupid little pretty girls all smug in a row thinking they're going to ride his coattails all the way to the final Tribal...what's the phrase Darth uses for that? |

Has any of the contestants ever seen this show. You do not throw challenges, it always comes back and bite you in the ass. The reward alone was worth trying. Keep trying to win and eventually you will lose one and that is when you vote of the person you want gone.

I think Russell's had his people throw some challenges in the past, though. In this case, I don't see how anyone could argue that wasn't a smart move. Unless Russell comes back...and ekg doesn't want me to post spoilers.  Plus Rob got the clue to the immunity idol out of it too! |

March 2nd, 2011 – Russell Hanz voted out of Survivor: Redemption Island It does seem fitting that everything Russell had done to others for two seasons is now being done to him.
What is most fascinating to me is the justification of ethics. My most favorite topic. When someone is taking an action that “we” support then it’s awesome, it’s fantastic, it’s brilliant. But when it’s someone that “we” don’t like taking the same action, they’re a villain, a loser, untrustworthy. I’m just sayin… the Zapatera tribe is acting as dickish to Russell as Russell has acted to his tribemates in the past. Is one action more acceptable than another? But you're right on throwing the challenge: It’s very easy to back seat drive in this game but if you examine Survivor history, throwing a challenge rarely works out well.
When you let the other tribe win a challenge you give them confidence. You give them what they need to begin to believe in themselves. You risk the momentum shifting to them.. Often, you are also giving up a valuable reward. All so you can get rid of one tribemember, which also reduces your numbers, potentially making you weaker when you go to the merge.
Zapatera was so focused on getting rid of Russell that they could see nothing else. From day one, their focus has been “get rid of the cancer.” They wanted him out so badly, they not only threw a challenge, but they gave up a TARP! Next to flint, a tarp is the most sought after item on Survivor. |

AND gives Boston Rob momentum.. hair-man must have hair for brains... old guy white-hair must have been hit too many time playing football.. and young 'I'm jealous of Russell' is gay and just wants to blow someone so badly he can't think straight.. so I cant blame them.. the jealousy over Russell being a real man and taking the young hottties and leaving them with old and older was just too much for them.. but Julie? I don't care if he gets beat on RI or not.. he's been on 3 times.. made it to the finals 2 and has only been voted off once and that was last night.. just wait until the RI match-up is Russ V Rob! A lot we know* cannot be disclosed (unless you want this board closed down) and my friendship with S & S & even J will be ruint. previews are ok.. they just tease and misdirect you into thinking something, when it's really something else.. Survivor is like a football game for me, who wants to know what happens on the next down before it happens? it kinda takes the fun out of the anticipation and surprise.. |

then go look... I wanted to give y'all some of the backstory on the cheating thing: Russell and his wife were either feeding spoilers to someone, or were the someone and were busted by CBS. CBS, in turn, made Russell give out fake spoilers for dissemination and told him in no uncertain terms that if anything got out his ass was grass. So we got stuff like Carrie Prejean, Perez Hilton, and Kimbo Slice being on this season. And the idiots fell for it. |
