...Into the Democratic Party? Just like Charlie, he'll have to rethink (translated: flip flop) some of his positions on gay marriage, abortion, and social programs, but does he have any future in the increasingly extremist Republican Party?

Quote
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, seen as one of his party’s top prospects for the White House in 2016, has not been invited to speak at the annual conservative gathering hosted by CPAC, a source familiar with the decision confirmed.

The list of speakers for the March confab currently includes the party’s failed 2012 nominee, Mitt Romney, as well as former VP hopeful Sarah Palin and a string of current officials and 2016 hopefuls like Sen. Marco Rubio.

wow.

the man isn't a Dem. He's a conservative which should keep him the that party.. but he's also not a vindictive cunt willing to lie just because the person who did a good job has the initials BHO, which will get him booted out of the office he's doing very well in..

and this is where all that "He's a nazi, socialist, kenyan, dictator, usurper' has finally gotten them. Chrisite, btw, is reaping his own sowing.. since not 7 days before Sandy he was whoring himself out for Romney with lines like "this president couldn't lead his way out of a paperbag".. But he has enough integrity to know when he was wrong and come back a week later and say it. His party doesn't... and after everything they've said about Obama, they can't just 'work' with him now.. because then they'd be working with the nazi,socialist,kenyan,dictator,usurper.. which leads to what McCain experienced last week when he townhall started yelling him.

I'm very interested to see what happens for the mid-terms..will there be more 'Ted Cruz's' elected? or will Obama get his House and 60+ senate back?

I believe the sane is proportionally bigger than the fuck'in nuts.  The problem with the sane is most of them need extra ordinary prodding to stay politically vigilante.  The fuck'in nut bags, however, only need to hear 2nd Amendment or Muslim and it's pretty much in the bag.

That's what happened in 2010.  The sane gave the fuck'in nut bags to much credit in the reality department, and to little credence, and assumed there was no way in hell screaming chicken little's could be organized, or be corralled into an effective voting block.  Wrong on both counts.

So whether we like it or not, we have to stay on our toes, because the nut bags will never loose steam.

Christie joins Scott in accepting Obamacare. Funny how the reason he uses is that it'll decrease the state's deficit, huh?

Quote
Gov. Chris Christie will expand the state's Medicaid program to cover 300,000 uninsured New Jersey residents, The Star-Ledger learned today.

The governor's new budget, which he plans to unveil at joint session of the Legislature this afternoon, also relies on state revenue growth of 4.9 percent and delays some property tax rebates for local taxpayers, according to three sources with knowledge of the budget plan who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The governor's revenue forecast this year is a much smaller jump than the optimistic 8 percent growth of last year, a goal he has not met.

The sources also said Christie would call for the delay of some property tax relief funds from this spring to this summer, a tactic that could give him some much-needed breathing room to close a $473 million budget shortfall by deferring the cost to the next fiscal year.

The governor 's office has not released details of the budget, but state officials were briefed on his plans this morning. He is expected to provide details later today as well as lay out a roadmap for financing a huge rebuilding effort after Hurricane Sandy.

Spokesmen for Christie did not respond to a request for comment.

As for his decision to expand Medicaid, the Republican governor, a critic of President Obama's Affordable Care Act, could reap up to $300 million by expanding the state program in the coming budget year.
