Oh, dammit!
Scott Walker's got his hands on it now too!
There has been a lot of talk about how the budget repair bill will influence state workers, which is undeniably of great concern, but what about those that utilize BadgerCare?
Gov. Scott Walker proposes in his bill to give one agency the power to control BadgerCare, including the right to cut eligibility, increase premiums and cut back on benefits.
This could potentially be devastating for BadgerCare, including the family planning services that are utilized by over 60,000 people in our state to manage their reproductive health.
Cutting BadgerCare services may seem like a good way to get the budget under control, but it's just not realistic.
BadgerCare has saved our state more than $700 million since it has become a program. With our economic situation being an unstable one, even more people have been forced to turn to BadgerCare for cost-effective health care services.
