As America's so-called responsible gun owners celebrate the lack of gun regulation.

One student and a lone gunman died after a shooting at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Oregon, Tuesday morning.

Additionally, a teacher was injured with non life-threatening injuries and treated at the scene, according to Police Chief Scott Anderson, who spoke at a press conference.

The situation has been “contained,” officials confirmed. Police searched each student and inside every room of the building to ensure the scene was fully under control. Students then boarded buses and were taken to a designated, nearby parking lot to be reunited with their parents.

During the evacuation process, authorities found a person with a gun. Police do not believe the individual, who was taken into custody, was part of the incident, Anderson said.

“We have tentatively identified the shooter, but aren’t confident enough at this point to confirm the details,” Anderson said. He confirmed the gunman used a rifle.

Puh-shaw. What are sacrifices compared to liberty and freedom?

The ATF has been disempowered. You can go to states like Arizona (among others) and buy from private sellers without ever having to show so much as a library card for ID. The CDC is banned from doing or submitting any sort of comprehensive gun impact study.  No two states have the same firearms laws. Forty percent of all firearms sales come from private and 3rd party sales...MANY of which have to follow little to no guidelines for exchange, as it's left to...discretionary.  Don't get me started on Private and 3rd party sales.

So, so many firearms that should have never made it into the wrong hangs.

There's so much more to this story coming out...seems like the kid is a Mormon conservative teabagger type crazed evangelical who's intent was to kill all the sinners.

Quote
The 15-year-old freshman who opened fire on his Oregon high school Tuesday wanted to kill "sinners," the teen wrote in his diary.
Jared Padgett, an active member of an Gresham, Ore., Mormon church, shot and killed a student and injured a teacher during the attack on Reynolds High School before turning the gun on himself, police said.

While searching through the teen's home, officers found his journal, Portland's KGW reported. In the diary, Padgett detailed plans to kill the "sinners" at his school, police said.

No specific students or teachers were named as targets. His writings did not outline how or when the killings would occur, police said.
Padgett was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be of the self-hating type.
