SHOW TRANSCRIPT

One day after winning the Florida Republican gubernatorial primary, Rep. Ron DeSantis is facing backlash for saying the state should not "monkey this up" by electing his African-American.
"You know, he is an articulate spokesman for those far-left views and he's a charismatic candidate," DeSantis said. "The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state. That is not going to work. That's not going to be good for Florida."DeSantis made the comment during an interview Wednesday on Fox News.
Democrats were quick to criticize the comment.
"It's disgusting that Ron DeSantis is launching his general election campaign with racist dog whistles," Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Terrie Rizzo said in a statement posted on her Twitter page.

I'm sure more of this will come out in the Mueller investigation, perhaps that Trump paid off another Playboy model?

Report: Top DeSantis fundraiser impregnated Playboy model; Trump’s lawyer negotiated payment

Elliott Broidy, a friend and fundraiser for Trump, admitted impregnating her. He's on DeSantis' national fundraising team.

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer negotiated a $1.6 million payment to a Playboy model impregnated by one of Congressman Ron DeSantis' top fundraisers, The Wall Street Journal reported this afternoon.
Elliott Broidy, a top Republican National Committee official and Trump fundraiser, admitted to the Journal getting the woman pregnant. Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, negotiated the $1.6 million last year, according to the report.
"At the end of our relationship, this woman shared with me that she was pregnant," he said. "She alone decided that she did not want to continue with the pregnancy and I offered to help her financially during this difficult period."
Broidy, who is married, is also part of DeSantis' national fundraising team for his campaign for governor. He's already stepped down from his RNC position.

How the hell this racist managed to get vetted by the voters of Florida to get into the House is besides me. As a resident of his district, I'll do everything possible to keep him from winning in November.

Racist robocalls tied to neo-Nazi group target Andrew Gillum

Robocalls against Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum that say they were paid for by a neo-Nazi group in Idaho are going out to voters in Tallahassee.
The automated calls are narrated by someone pretending to be Gillum and using an exaggerated minstrel dialect with jungle noises in the background. The calls end with a disclaimer that they were funded by The Road to Power, an anti-Semitic, white supremacist website and podcast linked to Scott Rhodes of Sandpoint, Idaho.
According to the Des Moines Register, a sister paper of the Tallahassee Democrat, the group has been linked to other robocall campaigns in Charlottesville, Virginia, Oregon and California.
Terry Kant-Rauch, a Tallahassee realtor, received one of the robocalls this morning in the voice mail of her cell phone. Kant-Rauch, a Democrat who happens to have a biracial daughter, became emotional after hearing it, she said.
“Campaign on the merits,” she said, “not on the color of his skin.”
Geoff Burgan, communications director for Gillum's campaign, responded by saying, "This is reprehensible — and could only have come from someone with intentions to fuel hatred and seek publicity. Please don’t give it undeserved attention."

The Democrat chose not to publish the audio because of its blatantly racist and offensive content. The call came from a phone number in Tallahassee with a 222 prefix.
The Democrat left a message for Rhodes, who also goes by the name Scott Platek, according to the Register. He did not immediately return the phone call.
The Register reported earlier this week that robocalls from The Road to Power were going out using the death of Mollie Tibbetts to promote white supremacist messages. Tibbetts, a University of Iowa student, disappeared July 18, and her body was discovered more than a month later. So-called alt-right groups have attempted to capitalize on her killing because the suspect is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico.

So if my grandkids are playing with my books, am I making a racist statement if I tell them "Stop monkeying around with my books."?

How would this be a legitimate aspect of the Mueller investigation? Did the Russians have anything to do with it?

The link here doesn't work. Do you have another link to the same story?

It doesn't look like the Republican opponent had anything to do with making the calls. Rather, it was some outside group.

Different phrase.

However, what you should say is "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY BOOKS!"

Huh. Don't know about that. Try this:

As far as whether he has knowledge of it or not, I don't know. But the dirty deed's been done and considering the prior racist incidents of his campaign, I wouldn't be surprised.

Not really all that different, since they both use monkey in the same way, meaning "to mess with." What is racist about that ?

And I don't make a habit of swearing, so i definitely would NOT say that to the grandkids.

No, it's not. If he were to say that something had put a monkey wrench in the plans, would he be referring to porch monkeys? If he said he had monkey bread for breakfast, would he be referring to porch monkeys? Is he supposed to remove every possible usage of the term "monkey" from his vocabulary out of fear people are going to twist his words in their attempts to claim he is saying something that he never said?

Wait, you say he has a Shadow self? Are making some sort of accusation that he's an occult practioner? Everyone knows that shadows are spirits, so if you use the word "shadow" you must be referring to the occult. (See, a lot of words can have there meanings twisted.)

Well, the placement of the word in the sentence shows that it could easily have been replaced with "mess this up" as the meaning of "monkey this up." There is no reason to assume a racial undertone unless you're looking to play the victim card.

The press is just stirring up the outrage, and people wonder why conservatives are questioning the biases of the press.

"We hear a lot about the “politics of division” these days. Indeed, that phrase was used in a few quarters as a criticism of DeSantis’s words. But I can think of fewer more “divisive” actions than falsely telling millions of people that the man who may well be their next governor believes that African Americans are monkeys. Those who did so should be ashamed.

Perhaps the best argument against DeSantis is that, as a professional, he should have known better than to have used the word “monkey”—even innocently. But one cannot advance that charge without adding the necessary next clause, which is “. . . given that the press is so wildly irresponsible and will take words out of context in order to gin up outrage.” If politicians ought to be careful because otherwise the press will lie, then the press is rotten to the core. It should not remain a mystery why so many so openly detest it."

3 questions....answers as follows in order of questions

1. monkey wrench was not applicable to the statement he made...monkey wrench is a description of a tool used incorrectly by a person
who lacked experience or knowledge, when it came to the use of the wrench...thusly causing the mechanism to malfunction.
Monkeys fit this bill...

2. monkey bread...in the wrong context would imply porch monkey..."We've invited the candidate over for a breakfast brunch,we'll
be serving bananas and monkey bread, in order to make him feel welcomed"

3. YES

Wait, you say he has a Shadow self? Are making some sort of accusation that he's an occult practioner? Everyone knows that shadows are spirits, so if you use the word "shadow" you must be referring to the occult. (See, a lot of words can have there meanings twisted.)

Ok...thats just funny...i am outside the group of everyone here in this case...shadows equal spirits...what year are we in ?
better yet....what year does everyone who thinks that ,think we are in ? 1350 a.d.
i used shadow to see if you were familiar with Carl Jung...i probably should've used sub-conscious to avoid the occult connection
with those who have limited educational experiences with the sciences.

In my opinion...all religions qualify as an occult...so...i guess i'm saying you to are a practitoner of the occult
and would be wise to avoid direct contact with any and all shadows...that aren't connected to your occult

So many options...and yet...he went went with a monkey phrase...hmm

simple word association on a grand scale is the driver of the vehicle...each individual decides whether or not to open the door and get in for the ride

You exampled shadow.... i exampled monkey...neither are wrong and both aren't right...depending upon the individuals position of perspective.

The racial undertone was activated when he chose to use the word monkey in conjunction with whom he was speaking about,

due to the color of that individual...a strategic move if done consciously...a look deep inside of desantis if done unconsciously...

Well, your answers pretty much prove my point, that there is just a desire to play the victim. Sure, if you use monkey bread in a context with bananas while saying you want to make the candidate comfortable, then you have crossed over to racism. But those types of additions were NOT used by DeSantis. To say he was intending that is disingenuous. There are a number of colloquial phrases that use monkey, Besides monkey wrench, there is monkey business, monkey on my back, more fun than a barrel of monkeys. and others. The use of them does not constitute racism.

What year do you think we are when to think that any use of the word monkey has to be racially motivated? I'm glad you see there are more uses of the word shadow that what you used. Sure, you could have used another word, but that doesn't mean you were wrong in your initial usage of it.

It's true that there is much about God that is hidden from us, but fortunately, he has given us His Word so that we can begin to know Him and have a relationship with Him.
