http://theworldofhowey.wordpress.com/Ya'll are aware of my friendship with Sugar. Although I've known for a while this was going to happen, as of June 26th, it's official. She's one of the participants on VH1's Celebrity Rehab. Please wish her a speedy recovery!

So the celebrity in question is already strung out on something and begins 'treatment' when the show starts? That didn't work out so well with Phil Hartman's wife...(She was on a waiting list for rehab).

I don't know anything about phil hartman's wife.. but yes, they show up already strung out and that's day one.. |

I don't know anything about phil hartman's wife.. but yes, they show up already strung out and that's day one..
Smelling a rat with a reality show is not exactly cracking a case of the century but either she would already be in rehab and that would recount it with taped segments or it's bogus to say the least, unlike Big Brother where it's almost as it happens, yet still far from 'reality'. Nothing against Howie's friend, just sayin' the show is full of holes from a reality standpoint but really the only true reality show that has ever been is COPS. |

There are people who are celebrities or near-celebrities who need help for whatever reason, like Sugar. (Her problem is more of a guy thing, IYKWIM, but that's a different story) Sometimes the two collide and give someone the opportunity to possible "get their name out there" and get help at the same time. Example: Robert Downey, jr. I'm not saying it's a good thing or not. I'm saying when your dream is to be in show business, or whatever, there's nothing wrong with whoring your name out. Especially when (hopefully) nothing but good will come with it. |

for someone who doesn't know anything about the show you sure have a lot of negative opinions about it.. as far as I can tell, it all happens as it happens.. they detox, it's recorded.. they get better, show ends.. it's a pretty decent show if the 'cast' is fairly decent.. |

Ditto. (Gawd, ever since Rush showed up on the scene, I hate that word!) I've a special place in my heart for people with addictions...it's a long story (no, not moi  ) Craig from the much knows who. More on the participants, if they want to whore themselves out, they won't last long. Dr. Drew won't put up with it. The problem? She "doesn't have an addiction," her husband Tareq Salahi tells People. He says his wife was "leaning on Dr. Drew to help treat her [multiple sclerosis], which has been directly affected by our ordeal with the White House. What she needs is help managing her stress and her illness."
But producers of Celebrity Rehab weren't interested in treating stress in Salahi. "The treatment program that Celebrity Rehab documents is intended for individuals with serious substance abuse and addiction issues," VH1 said in a statement. Salahi, producers say, does not "meet the criteria. As a result, she is no longer participating in the program." As far as Sugar, whether she finishes or not is her decision. I won't hate her either way.  btw - Chuck is the winner of the best/funniest poster contest. Because of the above, I'm not able to get you (Chuck) a poster until Sugar's better (for obvious reasons...all the contestants are on "lock down", no communication with the outside, etc. Although I talked to her about the poster before the show started taping, we decided to just wait.) |

When I apply critical thinking to anything and everything, that's what it is, it's not attacking in this case the show or being negative. |
