He and his wife filed separately at least in 2003 (maybe other years) because of the Presidential race to keep her fortune off the books.  It became a political issue anyway, but Kerry's separate return was just taxes paid on his Senate salary and a few other things, with no mention of the fact that he was a millionaire and wasn't taxed as such, since of course all he had to do that year was realize capital gains from his wife's investments not his.  If you don't realize anything, your effective tax rate could be zero.

But combined they had an effective tax rate below the 15% capital gains tax!  That's amazing!  Those crazy one percenters...

I think you and.your comrades just don't understand the gripe isn't with the money, it's the greed that goes with it, as well as.compassion for those less fortunate.

Incredible that you would fault Teresa Heinz her millions through inheritance but defend the guy who got off on firing people.
