I totally agree.. but if the people in his district cared, his polls wouldn't be so high, nor would he have so much donated money in his election chest..
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-05-12/joe-arpaio-maricopa-arizona-sheriff/54924340/1I mean, other than the Obama stuff, this guy didn't care to prosecute rapes if they happened to hispanic women..
The fact that his people love him so, is more of a barometer of just how fucked up we, as a country, are..
this is where the GOP is wrong.. the whack jobs are going to vote for Romney anyway.. they are catering to them because they want to..
I agree. There might be some right leaning moderates and independents that vote Obama because of the off the wall shit...but people seem to dismiss (or have already forgotten) the level of koo-koo that's already been welcomed into the GOP, perhaps begrudgingly, but welcomed none-the-less.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The GOP have embraced this concept, more over, the flame throwing naive peons they thought they'd deftly play for political purposes and positioning, are in fact starting to run the show AND *turning* the long time congressional and senate office holders to THEIR way of thinking. Why/How?...because these flame throwing naive peons are UNSEATING their colleagues who disagree with their scorched earth way of doing things.
The players, got played...and most Americans, who only dip a toe into politics, are painfully unaware of how drastic the dynamic is about to change if they don't step up their involvement. "Moderate" in political adds is now being treated with the same venom as "Liberal." "Conservative" is being redefined to mean someone who takes an ax to everything.
It's about to get reaaaalllllll ugly.
