Yes he should.  Here let me really piss you and every one else off!  Chuck's a very intelligent guy who got the major ass fuck in life.  Granted.  But he can be on the computer and post here and there all day.  Sorry but why can't he be on the computer or phone a couple hours a day and work?  Helping people, perhaps like himself, deal with govt. red tape or whatever?  Or why can't he mentor or tutor kids in school via the net or phone?  Unless you're in a coma, you should have to do something to earn that check based on your ability.  Now you can spit.

I'm not going to spit because I don't think you understand Chuck's situation.. I think you're seeing 'Chuck-99' in your head and you don't realize that guy is not around anymore.

Besides the part he explained where if he makes X-amt of money he'll lose the benefits that  literally, no bullshit, no hyperbole, sustain his life.. I'm going to focus on the 'working' part.  Yes, he's got a brain that's limitless in it's intelligence and ability to use that intelligence to weave words into something extraordinary.. but what he doesn't have is muscle.  With any movement you make, it takes muscles.. and no matter how small that movement is, you do some damage to the muscle. 99% of us don't ever notice that damage.. maybe our wrist hurts from typing too much or our calves hurt from stretching too much to get the box on the top shelf in the  cabinet.. whatever it is, we all have something like that. The only reason my fingers aren't hurting right now after all this typing is because I've got big fucking mouth that likes to talk so they had to learn to toughen up..

but Chuck's muscles don't 'toughen up'.. they atrophy...they atrophy without use, they atrophy even more with use... when you or I wear a muscle it recovers and gets stronger.. when Chuck wears a muscle, it recovers less and less until finally it doesn't recover at all..

you or I have a range of motion and dexterity that allows up to comb our hair and maybe add a little hair spray to the top to get that cowlick to lay down.. Chuck couldn't raise his arms that high to comb his hair, neither does have the strength and dexterity hold a bottle and push the spray button at the same time.. When he eats, he brings his head/chin/mouth down towards the table because he can't bring his hand UP..

But you might say, look at Hawking, he's frozen in his body and he teaches, does tv, writes books... yes, but he's the outlier.. he's the exception.. he's not the rule. He was brilliant, famous in his circle, and yes, wealthy before he was frozen solid... not to mention he was raised in country with uni-healthcare that wasn't taken away from him if he did work 40hrs one week took a month off to recover and then worked 7hr for the next 18 weeks so he could recuperate from that one long week. He's an academic, Chuck could have been.. he's just as intelligent.. but where Hawking was an academic before he was frozen, Chuck didn't have the same opportunity.. nor did he or anyone in his family ever expect him to live this long anyway..He was told all his life he'd be dead before he was a teenager, then before he was 25, then before he was 35.. he was promised he wouldn't make it to 40... but look now, he's 46..

Now, at 46.. not only does he have to deal with what everyone who is 46 is starting to deal with when their body realizes it's not 17 anymore.. his MD compounds that exponentially.. Take respiratory infections.. those are bad for anyone, but for Chuck they're a death sentence.. He doesn't have the muscle capacity, the lung capacity, the 'regeneration' ability to recover.. so any little 'cough' send panic through his mind because of the danger it presents to him..

I know what you're saying.. I really do. In this day in age, with his intelligence and mental abilities.. why can't get find work somewhere..

Marc, 20 year old college grads who are experts in their fields can't find work.. able body people who don't need guaranteed breaks every 15 mins, who can work with any stress or deadlines, who have a place of employment that understands that just exerting an hour too much today means the next 2 days need to be taken off so they can lay in  bed recovery what little mobility is left.. can't find work.

He's going to kill me for saying this, but I want you to finally understand.. because I know this has been a 'thing' for you for awhile now and I think it's come between you two in some way and I really wish it wouldn't..  He limits what he eat in quantity and variety so he doesn't shit.. not so he doesn't shit in his pants, that's a factor too, but so he doesn't shit period. he can't just get up and go to the toilet, he can't just pop on a diaper and pop it off when it's dirty.. So he just decided he'd change his diet to limit his bowels.. Once, 4-5 years ago when his mom could actually go away for the weekend and leave him alone.. which btw, he still couldn't get into his bed so his plans were to just roll up to a table and crash his head on it like he was in 7th science class...he'd just stop eating altogether for the 2 days or so before she left so he wouldn't have to find a way to the bathroom at all..he didn't want her to feel like she was trapped inside the house, he wanted her to have her freedom because he knew the day was coming where she wouldn't be able to leave him for more than an hour here and there..

the 'spiral piss of death'.. that wasn't a joke.. it was real... he'd roll up to the toilet when no one could help, pull out his junk and 'aim' a his piss towards the toilet.. when you saw him he had Jimmy with him as convenience.. now, he has someone with him as life-sustaining necessity..

Physical or Occupational therapy doesn't work for Chuck since he can't replace the muscle that's damaged from therapy does.. He has learned to either do without or do things in way we'd never think of.. The last time I was there he had to keep the cat out of his room at night because if the cat decided to lay on his chest, he can't move her off and will suffocate from her weight on him... true, she's a fat ass cat.. LOL.. but not fat enough to where a 3 year old couldn't move her.. But Chuck can't. he can't push himself up in bed if he 'schooches' down.. he can't turn over, he can't bend down and scratch his ankle.. yes, his mind is there and it's rocking.. but his body isn't and he's not wealthy enough or academically established enough to 'succeed' in the extremely unique way it would take him too succeed..That's what  you're missing in your theory, the extremely unique, unto him, conditions he would need to find work and be successful enough to 'pull himself up'... and our society doesn't help  the people like him.. it punishes them by taking away their healthcare if they work, by taking away their $200 a month in food stamps if he makes $175 a week..he literally cannot own a newer car, nor a bank account or he will lose all his benefits.. and when he loses the job that gave him that freedom from Trump's tit, our system makes it impossible to just start back on it.. and he can't afford, living-wise, to wait out the lag time.

I just don't think you understand what his situation is today... and what it will be tomorrow. I'm not around him as much as I want to be.. but I've seen the decline in his physical ability over the years.. I've seen him go from being able to use his feet to shcooch his chair here and there to seeing him unable to get anything off even the middle shelf of his >standard size fridge-much less open the fridge door without having to use the power of wheelchair to pull it open instead of just using his arm-strength ..

Yes, somewhere out there there is job he can do today.. but tomorrow he won't even be able to do that and will have to find another needle in a very large haystack.... and unfortunately he can't risk the loss of the measly benefits he does have today while he's searching for that very very tiny needle..

and just one more thing that might surprise you because you didn't realize when you said it..

you say "Instead of posting here all day".. look at the numbers.. I don't think you'd profess to be a major poster here who devotes all his time instead of working at the office he owns.. but compared to Chuck, that's exactly who you are.. You've been here since august 6.. 3 months.. and you average 2 posts a day.. chuck has been here 17 months and only averages 1 post a day.. he's been here 5 times longer than you and you still post double what he does.. and you're  not by any means, here posting all day..  well, neither is he..

I'm just saying.. you need to reassess your opinion because it's not based on current information or the realities he faces..
