Look, I know candidates will say a lot of shit to get elected.  They make promises and statements their heart isn't really into, to garner those votes, but Romney must have broken some sort of F'in record for real time narrative contortions and changes.  He's like friggin Mr. Mxyzptlk from Superman.  Just changing reality with the snap of his finger.  "Sir, you said..."  "No I didn't...*SNAP!*"  It's unbelievable.

and the astonishing thing is, he gets more popular each time he does it.

all the pundits are simultaneously aghast and intrigued at how he's running the 'etch a sketch' campaign.. because they know that if he wins with this kind of blatant lying.. all bets are off.. every campaign from then on will do the same..  if you can successfully, while being video-taped, tell two audiences extreme and vastly opposite things.. and still have both audience believe, support and fight for you? well hell, why tell the truth ever again...

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)
