why does this not surprise me?

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) and her husband Todd recently had a chance to try out Google Glass, a form of wearable technology, but passed up on the opportunity.

Nilay Patel of The Verge wore Google Glass to watch the Indy 500 race on May 26. When he bumped into the Palins, who attended the race as guests of 1963 Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones, he offered to let the couple try on the headgear.

Patel reports for The Verge:
Quote
At one point during the evening Sarah Palin arrived at the hotel and made a smooth, practiced pass through the bar shaking hands and taking photos with a long line of admirers. I stood next to her for several minutes but she wouldn't take a photo with me or wear Glass. "What's in it for us?" asked her husband Todd, staring squarely at the camera and screen floating just above my hazy, bourbon-enhanced eyes. "We don't know what company you're with."
When I told him I wasn't after an endorsement but was rather a journalist interested in her opinion of Glass, he icily asked me to leave.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/31/sarah-palin-google-glass_n_3365743.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

a dolla will make them holla, yo

HA!  I know exactly what you mean.. I wanted so badly to say something, hell I still do... but nothing can be said about the truly *____________________*  (see, I still can't come up with anything)..people they are..

calling them 'scam-artists' is an insult to scam-artists..

same with calling them whores.. it insults whores..

opportunists? carpetbaggers? frauds?... nothing correctly encompasses the Palins..

Whatever they negotiate, it's to much.  I swear I remember the number 22k being uttered about a speaking engagement or appearance for something. I know in 2010, Politico got a hold of documents that confirmed she asked for and got a 100k speaking fee for the Tea Party Convention. They also went on to say she routinely (this was back in 2010) was asking for 100k, and 75k on the west coast.

Here's another one from 2010, can't seem to find anything recent.  BUT...for a bargain, you can get Bristol for 14k.
