Well, actually....NOT!

Smarmy headline from Drudge this morning:

And, while praise for the American Olympians was absent, Drudge and the right are simply adoring their new hero Pootin!

Olympics delivering for Putin......

Holy shit...so much hostility and ball kicks towards President Obama for refusing to arbitrarily condone the beating and imprisonment of homosexuals by his presence at the games, in the comments.

And if he did go and say something positive towards the homosexuals who are enduring beatings and imprisonment...he would have been blasted by the same people.  It's a no win scenario...because he can't go and NOT say something.

I personally would have liked to see him go, for the visual of our President supporting our athletes and the games...BUT...I understand (and I'm sure many of the athletes involved do as well) why he decided to protest in this manner.

Oh yeah...one was complaining about Obama not flying over and congratulating the hockey team. I pointed out that he was inspecting the damage in California and that if he'd flown to Russia and wasted all those taxpayers dollars and ignoring California they'd be hitching about THAT!

He really can't win...

you're right. he can't. no matter what he does or doesn't do, they gripe. His essential sin (in their eyes) is being a black president.
