France arrests Muslim women as full-face veil ban begins

I stuck this here because I consider that religion to be as crazy as Mormons. It kind of relates to my personal Face rule as well Grin. If you want to live in society you have to show your face. You're making a spectacle of yourself in the attempt to be humble before God. It's wrong. People should be allowed to do whatever they want in their place of worship or in their homes if it's not harming anyone but not in public. And even though I believe(know)there was a lot more to 911, I've not heard much if any outcry from Muslims trying to set the record straight about fundamentalism and themselves. I think it's because if they take the Koran completely to heart, it does call for violence against non believers.

Every religion almost, changes through the years or decades even centuries. I don't think any such thing has ever occurred with Muslims which is a big part of the problem. Like in mine, pagans used to do animal and possibly human sacrifices, we're talking before the copper age, before Jesus but if any of that is still going on it's probably satanists and not pagans. Everything I've found on it in the modern day and the people I know who follow earth centered religion, do all of that stuff symbolically.

I headcover. Not daily or 24-hours a day, but quite frequently. My head coverings vary from a wide cloth headband to a veil that completely covers my hair, to scarfs inbetween. I've worn a scarf tied hijabi style in the winter. It's a deeply personal decision for me.

Why should I care if someone thinks, like you, that I'm making a spectacle of myself? If a woman is veiling or covering by choice, she is doing to not make a spectacle of herself before GOD. Why should she care what other people think? How can it be wrong for a woman to wish to humble herself before God? How does a woman wearing a headscarf harm anyone?

It's such a disgusting flaunt of a society that is becoming increasingly ethno-exclusive (as most of Europe is, and now apparently us after the anti-Sheria laws started passing) to ban a woman the right of humbling herself before her creator, as well as following a tradition of her culture.

Muslim headcovering is a branch off of Christian headcovering. Check out paintings from the early Dark ages--the women are wearing "muslim" headcoverings. In fact, most women in the western world wore some form of a headcovering until the early 1900's.
