btw, I saw another news clip that Scott is funneling money away from the public hospitals who treat the elderly/poor and giving most of it to 'private' hospitals who don't have to see the peons if they don't want to.. and on top of that, 80% of that 'private' money is going to his healthcare centers..so 2 questions..
1, why can't 'private' companies subside off of 'private' money instead of sucking the gov't tit.. I mean, let them fail if they can't make it in their capitalism..

2, is this really what the Tea-Party wants in the elected officials? Is that the new libertarian? They don't do smoke-filled room deals that fuck the people, they just do it out in the open and the masses still love them for it?

Not impossible at all. She and I may have differing views on this, but I've never thought she just wants to hand out money to anyone, no matter what they do.
I think one of the main differences between us is that she sees the people who do NOT want to be on financial assistance from the government and her job is helping these people who are just down right now as opposed to those who stay down but have their hands out. The vast majority of what she sees are not the ones who couldn't pass a piss test.
Although I'd like to see drugs legalized, I still firmly believe that most stoners have no interest in organizing toward it, as it would take away part of their "high" time. The only legal battle most of them are interested in is getting high and arguing "But Duuuuude, it should be legal anyways". As if THAT will have any effect on lawmakers.
Of course, the liberal bigot had a lot more to say too...I wonder what happened to the "bulk rate" $10 charge?
Some relatively good news on that subject today. The new law says that welfare applicants must pay for their own drug tests and be clean in order to receive. The Department of Children and Families has neotiated a bulk rate on the tests commonly used to certify Drug Free Workplace so applicants will only be out $10 until reimbursement.
The law still stinks, but at least the smell is a little less offensive now....
The simple fact is none of them want to accept the fact that poor knows no color, race, sex, or orientation. It can happen to everyone, not just druggies.
