I find it amazing that we've come such a long way as a species. Living through turbulent time after turbulent time and here we are today, millions of years later, countless groups, societies and civilizations later...and many of us STILL can't find the humanity that ensured our presence here today....our bond, our link forged through countless trials of adversity is becoming eroded...again. Tested against a mindset that values self over the whole.
I imagine if we had not learned to work together and care for our ill, but had been a species dominated solely by the thought process that reared it's head last night from those members of the audience...I doubt we'd be here to even have this discussion. We'd have died off long ago.
"Personal Responsibility" is being taken to one of those extremes that straight lines past all levels of compassion. It's scarey stuff.
