on a side note... :
When i lived in and around ft.myers during the mid through late 80's...
the beach a mile and half north of what was generally called fort myers beach...
was called by the locals of lee county "nigger beach"...why i don't know, but can imagine...
it was very scenic and we could drive on it...no maintence, no life guards...nothing but nature.
Those were some goodtimes !!!
