No. No more than I chose to be gay or Chuck chose to be straight. Yet, in this new century, it's incredulous that a seemingly educated, well-spoken candidate for President is still stupid enough to think a person "chooses" to be gay.

Quote

MORGAN: Back with Herman Cain.

I want to get stuck into you on your personal -- I guess your personal views, is the all encompassing theme of this segment. First of all, let's talk about homosexuality because -- and is that wrong? Do you think it's a sin?

CAIN: I think it's a sin because of my biblical beliefs and although people don't agree with me, I happen to think that it is a choice.

MORGAN: You believe that?

CAIN: I believe that.

MORGAN: You believe people — seriously, you think people get to a certain age and go, I think I want to be homosexual?

CAIN: Let me turn it around to you. What does science show? You show me evidence other than opinion and you might cause me to reconsider that…. Where is evidence? […]

MORGAN: Wait a minute, let me ask you. You genuinely believe millions of Americans wake up in their late teens normally and go, you know what, I quite fancy being a homosexual? You don’t believe that, do you?

CAIN: You haven’t given me any evidence to convince me otherwise nor has anyone else.

*The question asked is "Did Herman Cain choose to be black?"

For some reason, thinking about some of the things he's said over the past month, I suppose the claim could be made that Herman Cain chose to be white.

From later on in the interview:

Quote
CAIN: Being black doesn't wash off.

Dear Uncle Herman,

I just showered. Still love dick. Try again, homey.

I guess if Gays were Orange at birth to indicate they were homosexual, then he could probably wrap his mind around who the person is.  For him that would be a 'definite' qualifier.  For the right wing it would indicate you need to throw the kid away, literally.  THEN, abortion would probably be fine with them.

Now that I think about it...any self respecting gay baby would throw them selfs away if they had an orange tone..."This isn't a bronzer mishap, this is, FOREVAH! ARRGGGGHHH!"

"This isn't a bronzer mishap, this is, FOREVAH! ARRGGGGHHH!"

hah!

What scares me about Cain is nobody knows nothing about him. He's never really been under the scrutiny someone involved in the political arena usually is. There's very little out there about him, or his family*.

It's like the Koch's pulled him outta thin air just for that reason. Oh. Wait. What better way for the Koch's to further influence our country?

Quote
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain has cast himself as the outsider, the pizza magnate with real-world experience who will bring fresh ideas to the nation's capital. But Cain's economic ideas, support and organization have close ties to two billionaire brothers who bankroll right-leaning causes through their group Americans for Prosperity.

Cain's campaign manager and a number of aides have worked for Americans for Prosperity, or AFP, the advocacy group founded with support from billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, which lobbies for lower taxes and less government regulation and spending. Cain credits a businessman who served on an AFP advisory board with helping devise his "9-9-9" plan to rewrite the nation's tax code. And his years of speaking at AFP events have given the businessman and radio host a network of loyal grassroots fans.

The once little-known businessman's political activities are getting fresh scrutiny these days since he soared to the top of some national polls.

His links to the Koch brothers could undercut his outsider, non-political image among people who detest politics as usual and candidates connected with the party machine.

AFP tapped Cain as the public face of its "Prosperity Expansion Project," and he traveled the country in 2005 and 2006 speaking to activists who were starting state-based AFP chapters from Wisconsin to Virginia. Through his AFP work he met Mark Block, a longtime Wisconsin Republican operative hired to lead that state's AFP chapter in 2005 as he rebounded from an earlier campaign scandal that derailed his career.

Block and Cain sometimes traveled together as they built up AFP: Cain was the charismatic speaker preaching the ills of big government; Block was the operative helping with nuts and bolts.

When President Barack Obama's election helped spawn the tea party, Cain was positioned to take advantage. He became a draw at growing AFP-backed rallies, impressing activists with a mix of humor and hard-hitting rhetoric against Obama's stimulus, health care and budget policies.

Block is now Cain's campaign manager. Other aides who had done AFP work were also brought on board.

All I know is, with differing friends who have come out over the years, if homosexuality were a choice, if it were as simple as just choosing not to be gay...no one would be gay.  Because who wants to be ridiculed, attacked, maligned (even killed) based on an orientation that has no harmful impact on the community, but is treated as a crime/criminal.

I've had to wash blood off my body twice (once after being attacked following a Pride Parade). Never washed away the gay, although I've been known to frequently wash away the gray.

if Gay isn't a choice then God made it, if God made it then he doesn't hate fags, if God doesn't hate fags then these people are in a whole lot of trouble when standing in front of the pearly gates..

so God must hate fags and they must be choosing to be gay..

once you remove your brain and squint your eyes, it's really easy to follow.. Tongue
