So I, and a few of my 99%er friends visited the so-called State
Tea Party Convention at the Ocean Center this past weekend. A HUGE crowd of at least three hundred folks dressed in Revolutionary War garb proudly carrying their "Don't Tread on Me" and
Obama = Hitler signs.
Made me sooooo proud to be an American!
Not.
Here's the
website for the convention, the introduction video from some inbred redneck, and some lovely photos.
Another welcoming invitation from some crazy
creationist, promising a crazy
birther preacher, and guaranteeing all the 2012 Republican candidates will be there to talk to the folks

Nobody showed up but crazy Rick Santorum? FL Tea Party Convention - Where Were They???
SARASOTA, FL -
It's a shame that the thousands that were expected to show up in Daytona Beach for the first ever FL Tea Party Convention didn't...
Nevermind the fact the FL GOP US Senate Candidate Frontrunner Adam Hasner was AWOL, along with former US Sen George LeMieux and FL Cong Connie Mack IV also going AWOL. Some have already said the GOP steered clear of this event, but that nevermind that...
Nevermind only Rick Santorum showed up for the GOP Presidential Debate while there were no press releases sent out by the Cain, Romney, Gingrich, Paul, Bachmann, Huntsman or Johnson campaigns confirming they'd be attending the event. As a matter of fact, Ron Paul and Jon Hunstman were on TV Sunday morning in Washington, DC on some talking head shows while Herman Cain showed up at an NFL Football game in Houston, TX. on Sunday afternoon...
Then there's the big splash about Laura Ingraham, Syndicated Talk Radio Host, being there to serve as the moderator of the GOP Presidential Debate-Forum, but nevermind that one either...
When it came to FL Gov Rick Scott and Sen Marco Rubio not attending this event, we all knew they weren't coming several weeks ago. However the FL Tea Party Convention didn't take them off their list of attendees. Nevermind that either...
One person did show up. Islamophobe, Obamaphobe and all-around hater
Pamela Geller!
