Wow! Kinda jumped to some major conclusions there didn't ya. I am for a strong military, this Nation and it's people deserve the best. I am against private corporations being involved in military matters, it is not their place, if a job requirement is needed it should be provided by the Armed Services. I also believe the military budget has a lot of room for budget reform, far too much waste. As for bases overseas, I believe most of them can and should be closed, with some exceptions. On wars, I come from a family that has served in numbers few familes do, my father served, my uncles and cousins served, I served and so has one of my sons, we are the LAST people that want more war, after all it is us that has to fight them for others that avoid serving but love to rattle their sabers. Vietnam was a mess and could have been avoided, and I was against the second war and invasion of Iraq. Do not assume I support the system as it has been operated for so many years, but that does not mean I do not support this Nation having the best military we can.

Hey Everyone, Casper here. New here but not to discussion boards. I am an Independent, that always tests out just slightly left of center. That equates to me having a Liberal point of view on most social issues such as a womans right to chose, helping out our fellow citizens in need and marriage am equalrights for all Americans. But I also hold a conservative POV on some other issues such as gun ownership, the military and balancing the budget. I try to always keep in mind that someone that disagrees strongly with me on one issue may be my strongest supporter on another, and that none of us are too old or smart to not be capable of learning. I will give the respect I am given but have no problem with a little give in take in the name of fun, and that is what boards such as this are all about, fun, if you take this all too seriously it will drive you crazy. Looking forward to seeing who is here and hearing your ideas.
