Why is it the two (so far) leading Republican candidates for 2012 - Romney and Huntsman - both favor universal health care with a mandate? Not to mention Newt, but do we really want to?

RE Obama's middle-east peace speech..

why are the majority of the GOP siding with a foreign leader over their own president? Especially during a time in which we are at war two times over?

If bowing to a foreign leader is treason, then what is it when you side with a foreign leader over your own president?

well sure  Wink, but  that 'water's edge' is only meant to be 'we don't insult the president when he's out of the country' right?  This is a political party siding with a foreign president while he's on our soil..and getting read to meet with our president.

No....It's when the opposing party disagrees with the president and sides with a foreign leader. Remember this? And damn if it isn't that pesky Cantor again too!

Quote
NEW YORK -- Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday during a meeting in New York that the new GOP majority in the House will "serve as a check" on the Obama administration, a statement unusual for its blunt disagreement with U.S. policy delivered directly to a foreign leader.

"Eric stressed that the new Republican majority will serve as a check on the Administration and what has been, up until this point, one party rule in Washington," read a statement from Cantor's office on the one-on-one meeting. "He made clear that the Republican majority understands the special relationship between Israel and the United States, and that the security of each nation is reliant upon the other."

Cantor also took issue with Obama administration policies in other areas, including Iran, with the statement from his office saying the congressman "believes that it is time for the administration to fully and aggressively implement the Iran Sanctions Act passed by Congress earlier this year."

Ron Kampeas from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency news agency found Cantor's comments extremely surprising, writing, "I can't remember an opposition leader telling a foreign leader, in a personal meeting, that he would side, as a policy, with that leader against the president. Certainly, in statements on one specific issue or another -- building in Jerusalem, or somesuch -- lawmakers have taken the sides of other nations. But to have-a-face to face and say, in general, we will take your side against the White House -- that sounds to me extraordinary."

I did some research.

http://www.barrypopik.com/index.php/new_york_city/entry/politics_stops_at_the_waters_edge/
"Politics stops at the water’s edge” is an old political adage, credited to several politicians. The phrase means that, in regards to foreign affairs, the United States is united and bipartisan. Alf Landon (1887-1987), unsuccessful Republican candidate for president in 1936 against Franklin D. Roosevelt, used the phrase often in 1936 and 1937. Michigan Republican Senator Arthur Vandenberg used the phrase in the 1940s and 1950s.
So, yeah, it's appropriate here.  Wink

The thing about it is like on our disagreement about Jones' comments, since it was here...whether Obama is the anti christ or not, nothing is going to change. They all say what people want to hear when they're running and then spend all their time playing grab ass and getting kickbacks.

Please keep ekg's use of an Alex Jones video in context.
