Greetings,

This place was suggested to me by and admin on another board who would rather I not continue on his board. He described you in uncomplimentary terms. Given that I did not like him and he does not like you I had to conclude this is the better place.

:-)

I am a Constitutional Conservative. I am not a social conservative nor a fiscal conservative. I believe that all governments should be limited by written charters or constitutions.

That sums up my belief system.

Simple huh?

nice to meet you. Thank you for joining this board.I'm not sure who you heard about it from but if he doesn't like us I don't really care hahaha.

I would consider myself a fiscally conservative liberal, if there is such a thing. I believe government does have a part to play in the social structures of the world but that doesn't mean everybody should get everything. there are tho basic things everybody should have, what those things are... I'm open to debate. Wink  (while i do believe socialism,in a smaller country, Can work and IS better  than pure capitalism in a large one.. i do agree pure socialism and or capitalism in ours would not. There is an even split that can  work if not abused or bastardized by either side)

I am a firm believer in the death penalty and I am pro gun. that doesn't mean I want an abundance of either. I think there is a middle road for both topics that can make a majority happy.

while I can agree that government should be limited to a constitution, i do not  believe that any Constitution is written by God and in stone for all times. I do believe that some older articles are up for current interpretation.

for the most part I hold a libertarian view, as long as I'm a consenting adult, not breaking any laws, paying my taxes, working, supporting myself leave me the fuck alone. As long as my affairs do not physically hurt you, then butt out of them..whether those 'affairs' are pharmaceutical,homosexual,prostitution..(insert any perceived immoral issue)..if what i do just offends your delicate nature..well sorry about your luck, i have one life to live and i shouldnt have to live it by some closed-minded,bitter,jealously inspired, low brow zealotry. .

I am far from wealthy but I do not mind paying a little bit extra to help the person below me ... just as I believe the person above me should also pay a little bit more to help those below them. I hold the belief that all ships rise.

Ill be honest with you by saying i do not like conservatives in their current form. But i will withhold judgement of you until i figure out whether you're a good witch or a bad witch..lol. either way, welcome.

Welcome!

I consider myself left leaning. Progressive/liberal is what I think some would identify me as, and I've even called myself that in the past, but as of late I'm not so sure I enjoy labels. I know they help out with the incessant need to categorize and group, but in our current climate, that only seems to engender negativity and a defensive posture, from either side, before a single word or conversation takes place. That is a damn shame and it an even bigger shame when people act shocked that they can agree, or come to an understanding on something...like it's never happened in the whole of history before, haha. That's how divisive our politics are right now and I'd rather that be reversed.

With the above, I'm pretty much on board with what EKG said, where she stands on things. Except, I'm anti-death penalty, and while I'm Pro second amendment, I think owning a firearm should come with far more proficiency standards and be far more detailed as to who's attempting or getting their hands on one.

I believe Government has a role in helping it's citizens. Many countries show this is more than possible, without ill effects, where both capitalism and socialism are not allowed to run a muck, but work together. As EKG said, their is a balance that is more than capable of being achieved, but uncontrolled greed or uncontrolled assistance leads to bad things.

I admit I was not happy with Mr. Veritis' postings on the site he came from. But I am willing to withhold judgment until we see what he does here.

Maybe I do not yet have the ability to reply to individual messages.

The admin was Peter. He is smart enough but I still despise him.  :-)

One can change a Constitution lawfully with an amendment. Our problem is that we no longer do that. We are living near the end of this nation because of the lawlessness at the highest levels within the federal government.

I look forward to being able to respond to individual messages.

Paddy, you will not like me any more here than "there".

No problem. I shall endeavor to be polite.
