It all has to reach a zenith. It will have to reach a point where even the most die hard, seemingly indestructible ideological reality is finally breached...and even then...every conceivable effort will be made, by the most rigid, to find something that will explain the breach as anything other than what it actually is.
Over half of the country could be living in the streets and I guarantee you, the devout will find every other reason, than the real one, as to why this is happening. This is tantamount to asking someone to change or abandon their religious convictions. It would be like waking up in the morning and seeing Superman actually flying past your window...everything about your reality just changed in that instant. Everything that makes your world work for you, just exploded and your coping mechanisms would go into overdrive and incorporate it...or...make it something other than what it is.
Some people have a very, VERY, fragile reality. It does not incorporate any other realities. It does not have the ability to reshape itself accordingly to something that would put their reality in disarray.
Some people say, "God damnit!" and move along. Some people say, "God damnit!" and fight tooth and nail to make sure that "God damnit!" was ANYTHING OTHER than the slice of reality they just got.
There's more Dems than I'd like to admit in on this new corporate world mentality, my reality accepted that. It left a bitter taste, but I've incorporated it and if it's within my voting power, I will try to change that. There's a shit load of Repubs in on this new corporate world mentality, my reality accepted that and the same applies to them as well. I will not vote for a Dem, simply because they're a Dem and I will not vote against a Repub, simply because they are a Repub. The dividing line is blurred and straight up and down votes, based on my ideological views, will do nothing to help...I can no longer be guilty of being a lazy voter. I have to step my game up. We all do.
We've let fringe mentality, and what it brings because of apathy and messaging, direct our reality over the past 30 years and the reality it introduced, is destroying us. To me, party lines don't matter anymore. The primary question I ask myself now is, "Are you fucking me?" "Are you fucking my friends, neighbors and relatives by your efforts or indifference?", if so...you're gone. I don't give a shit.
If your empathy is lacking, you're gone. If you see the jobless as lazy assholes, you're gone. If you've uttered one thing that used stereotyping to validate a view, you're gone. If you defend the way things CURRENTLY are, you're gone. If you see a homosexual as a threat to society, you're gone. If you think a student should be in serious debt to educate themselves for our countries betterment, as a *character builder*, you're gone. If you defend a 3 percent tax raise on the wealthiest, while hundreds of millions are watching their nation crumble around them, you're doubly fucking gone.
