Dems don't want to "throw the whole "social insurance" concept in the dumper!". Aside from the fact that they want to save it from the evil, greedy grubs of Rand Paul and the insurance companies, they also want to make it a viable program that won't have the elderly living in fear.
Of course that takes cooperation from your comrades, and we just won't get that, will we?
I used to get a Social Security "statement" each year telling me what I was do to get based on the FICA I had paid through a working life time. Interestingly, this year I didn't get one. So instead of me paying for Social Security insurance, you've stated that I'm not really paying for that, the rich should foot the bill. So if I don't have to pay for it, I would guess it's really just a welfare program.
I love the way you are totally changing the intent of social security on a dime for some sort of political point!
