Sarah Hires Chief of PAC

Quote
JUNEAU, Alaska — Sarah Palin has hired longtime political strategist Michael Glassner as chief of staff of her political action committee.

The hire, confirmed to The Associated Press on Saturday morning by Palin aide Rebecca Mansour and SarahPAC Treasurer Tim Crawford, is certain to fuel fresh speculation about Palin's possible intent to run for president in 2012. Palin has only said she's considering a run.

Glassner managed Republican vice presidential operations in 2008, when Palin was John McCain's running mate. Glassner also served as the longtime senior adviser to former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole.

"The fact this is someone who's had a career in national politics, that's the only indication that something might be up," said Ross Baker, a professor of political science at Rutgers University. But he doesn't think it's very significant in trying to divine Palin's plans, and it could just be a routine organizational move, he said.

"We tend to apply the sort of standards of interpretation that we would apply to, let's see, a Mitt Romney, that we would to her, and it's usually wrong, because her plans are so cryptic and her method of operation is so unconventional," he said.

I'm like that (satirical)poll  that saw 60+% of people voting for her just out of morbid curiosity.. I mean, image how fun it could be watching that train wreck.

The problem is, I don't want to give her the title 'Mrs. President' for the rest of her life..  and of course I have to live in the country she would be leader of, so that's a problem as well. HA!

BUT, I really do think if she runs, she will win. So I'm a little worried about her running now. I used to think her running would be the only thing to rally up the left enough to get out and vote, but now I don't.. I think her running will frenzy the conservatives so much they might even vote twice that day..HA!

ahh if only I could have a time machine to see both futures.. (the with her as potus and the one without)... that would just rock!

Maybe we should write a screenplay: "Mrs. President". A comedy, of course. der...

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin visited a Jewish holy site in Jerusalem soon after arriving in Israel Sunday on a trip that has raised speculation she is honing her foreign policy credentials before a run for the U.S. presidency next year.

Palin arrived in Israel Sunday after visiting India.

Palin, who was John McCain's running mate in his failed 2008 campaign for president, rarely travels abroad and has been criticized for a weak foreign policy record.

Palin did not comment to Israeli reporters at the airport and was whisked away in a white van.

Although the trip is private, she is to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.

"As the world confronts sweeping changes and new realities, I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing his country, our ally Israel," Palin said in a statement.

Palin toured holy sites in Jerusalem's Old City Sunday evening as Israelis celebrated the Jewish festival of Purim.

"Israel is absolutely beautiful and it is overwhelming to see and touch the cornerstone of our faith and I am so grateful to get to be here," Palin told reporters. "I'm very thankful to know that the Israeli and American link will grow in strength as we seek peace along with you," Palin said. "I can actually see the Gaza strip from my hotel balcony!"

She visited the Western Wall, a retaining wall of the compound where the biblical temples stood 2,000 years ago and which is now the holiest place where Jews can pray.

Oy...now we know who writes her speeches!

Quote
Danond said: “She didn’t go into diplomatic issues, but I can clearly say from the questions she asked in relation to our conflict here with the Muslims in these holy sites that she knows that we are right and that the Muslims are just claiming things for provocation and they’re not right.”

At least she didn't say anything about blood libel...

The Star of David around her neck was a little pandering, though...it'll probably end up in a Wasilla pawn shop next week.  Wink

OMG. I just puked my wurst!

Quote
After her presidential-sounding address at the India Today Conclave, Governor Palin and her husband Todd flew to Israel for their first visit, arriving during the celebration of the Jewish Purim holiday.   It is interesting that the timing of her India visit allowed her this visit to Israel at this particular time, and this author wonders if it was indeed providential.  Some Americans think Sarah Palin may be an modernday American Esther, called to lead at a time such as this.
