I'm doing better now than I have been in the last couple years. It's not great, but it's enough that I'm actually thinking of planning a small vacation this summer. It's enough that me and the kid went to dinner at a fancy restaurant, ordered 2 appetizers and dessert and I didn't 'sweat' spending the money..  It's been years since we'd been able to do that.

Last night a talking head said "The unemployment rate didn't go down this month, but people are feeling better and that's whats important"

I couldn't agree more.

Today, I am going for a 90 min massage. I had another one 2 weeks ago and plan on having another 2 weeks from now.. I haven't been to my guy in 3 years. I am also getting my 1st pedicure next Saturday. whoo hoo.. It's not that I'm rolling in the dough, but things are better than they have been in a long long while... and I'm not the only one feeling that way. A friend of my daughters moved in with us last night from Alabama, he moved back because when he visited last weekend he saw 50 placed hiring...from 7/11 in Melbourne to a hotel on Cocoa Beach.. He moved to Alabama 2 years ago because there wasn't a single job here to get.. That's changed.

IDK.. I know the GOP scream doom and gloom.. but even the high gas prices aren't stopping people from feeling "It might just be ok" for the 1st time in a LONG time.. If they could only get over their blinding hatred of Obama, and actually help people feel better about where we're at right now instead of where they wished we were.. who knows how fast we could recover this bitch. Confidence across the board, from left to right is what this country needs, but that side refuses to give any confidence for fear that it might just make things better for this country.. and when the stated goal is making Obama a 'one-term' potus, doom and gloom is all they will give since 'feeling better' defeats their purpose..

and that... IMO.. is beyond insane

That's because more people actually reentered the workforce looking for jobs.

Here's why.

Florida was among the last states to see its unemployment rate peak. It hit 12 percent in December 2010. Since then, Florida’s recovery has been among the fastest in the country. The state added 13,000 private-sector jobs in 2011, according to Mark Wilson, president of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. The state’s jobless rate finished 2011 below 10 percent.

Of course, Rick Scott will take credit for somethiing he didn't do. Then when he starts laying off all the state employees with the new budget he'll blame that on Obama.

I'll be happy, when the enthusiasm for the doom and gloom approach is finally forced into the shadows where it belongs.  More and more people are getting sick and tired of the negative rhetoric and where it took our discourse.

The internet has connected idiots and made flame throwers feel like they're genuinely doing something of worth, because the like minded idiots give them support.  Imagine the fucking drunk at the bar, who's annoying the piss out of everyone, is suddenly joined by thousands of other drunks...now all of the sudden, he's legit.  They're all legit...or so they think.  It's not just one asshole, who everyone at the bar tells to go fucking home.  Now all the assholes are showing up in one place.  All of them babbling nonsense and being pricks in unison...and that offers a sense of legitimacy to their prick'ness.

One fucking drunk at the bar telling everyone President Obama is a secret Muslim Terrorist gets ignored or shut the fuck down.  100,000 fucking drunks are a god damn convention of like minded shit for brains, who's mutual support makes them feel empowered and valid.
