Just being a dick here...but the Federal Government, under any administration, has NEVER recognized Stay at Home Moms, as work.  You can't collect benefits for being a stay at home mom, even though it's been pretty much a cornerstone of right leaning ideology that they should be ready with the slippers and have food on da table, kids sitting and ready, when hubby gets home.  The fact that women spend 18 PLUS years of their life raising individuals that will (for the most part) be contributors to society and are only trotted out when cranked up political bombshells are needed...doesn't change the fact that when this all fades away...they'll have been no advancement or more awareness of a positive nature given to *Moms*.  It's just a political numbers game.

With that said, being a Mom, part time or full time, is thankless, taxing, and rewarding.  I know I watched my Dad's fuckin brain melt when an injury saw him at home for 4 months...and my mom went to work so they wouldn't have to dip into their savings.  The millisecond he got cleared for work by his doctor, he was out of the house so fast, he was a blur of halle-fuckin-lujah.

What Rosen said was poorly worded, even though I got what she was saying the second it came out of her mouth. I cringed a little and I KNEW it would be taken as an assault on "Moms."  My Mom agreed...but she too understood what Rosen was trying to relay...and she agreed with Rosen.  Ann Romney has never experienced the struggle involved, when economic impairments bar or impede your child from medication, food, clothing, school supplies, toiletries, access to even a low grade home pc (which is such a big part of schooling now), and a myriad of other NON-essentials that you would LIKE for your child to have...nothing fancy...just something to bring a smile to your kids face.

I'm sure Ann Romeny was/is a really great Mother.  She strikes me as an individual who dedicated herself to her and Mitt's children's well being with all great due attention and love.

But Rosen is absolutely correct when she stated that Ann has zero concept of what a woman goes through in the work force...and how the economy affects them on so many levels, ESPECIALLY with children.  I would take little confidence in, as a woman, Ann Romney being an advocate on my part...for Women in the work place and Mothers in the work place.
