30 days is pretty much an insult though.. I really don't know why the judge even bothered, it would have been less of a dick move to just vacate the conviction and let Ravi go...

That's what I'm say'in.  It's like he broke an irreplaceable work (Tyler, who's never coming back), valued at 50,000 dollars and was asked to pay 5 bucks towards restitution.  Why bother at all?  Just let the Parole, fine, and community service stand as the punishment.  30 days (which he probably won't serve fully anyway) is pretty much a gigantic Fuck you.
