Based on the above, I really don't believe this story. After all, why would he impersonate someone he hates? One would think he dressed up as The Donald... According to classmate Robin Madden, Romney once brought a group of classmates up to his dorm room where he showed them his Michigan State Trooper’s uniform.
From the National Memo report:
Said Madden in a recent interview, “He told us that he had gotten the uniform from his father,” George Romney, then the Governor of Michigan, whose security detail was staffed by uniformed troopers. “He told us that he was using it to pull over drivers on the road. He also had a red flashing light that he would attach to the top of his white Rambler.”
In Madden’s recollection, confirmed by his wife Susan, who also attended Stanford during those years, “we thought it was all pretty weird. We all thought, ‘Wow, that’s pretty creepy.’ And after that, we didn’t have much interaction with him,” although both Madden and Romney were prep school boys living in the same dorm, called Rinconada.
Madden's account of a young Romney who excitedly spoke of his habit of impersonating a police officer, which is illegal in many states, has been corroborated in the past by other acquaintances from the GOP presidential candidate's youth.
A magistrate at Cranbrook, Romney's boarding school, recounted a famous prank in which Romney dressed up in full uniform and a badge, and placed a police light on top of his vehicle in order to pull over a car full of friends on a double date. |

Based on the above, I really don't believe this story. After all, why would he impersonate someone he hates? One would think he dressed up as The Donald... I can "sorta" believe it, but only in this regard...he did it (or at least his old dorm mate said he did) because he thought this might come off "cool." While it's been sighted that he had quite a few friends, most of the ones who have come forward to reminisce, seem rather luke warm with their fond memories. I wouldn't say strained, but they seemed detached from anything that was deeper than surface friendship...being civil and congenial. It's easy to picture Romney doing something stupid like that, to snag a few kudos points. I don't think he was lonely, per se, but if his current demeanor and the way he projects him self has even half an ounce of left overs from his youth and young adulthood...it wouldn't be difficult to imagine him thinking something like that would "bad ass." Do I think he did? Nah. But, like I said, I can picture a young Romney doing stupid shit like that. |

You illicit the thought that some of the bedrock, the backbone of the country, is held in more esteem than is deserved...because that's how you change the dynamic...that's how you detract from their importance.
Romney, and others, would LOVE it (which isn't far from happening) if everyone gave their respect to the people that rub paper together. Ya know...get their priorities straight. It's one of several ways you take the respect and power away from the average people who dam well have a place of regard in society.
I knew instantly what Walker was doing in Wisconsin, when he tried to pit the teachers against the police and fire persons...it was blatantly transparent. It wasn't just about busting Unions...it was about redefining the focus. Once you turn all of the teachers into turd knockers, and it becomes part of the norm to think like that, you start pushing the concept a little further. Who else is held (generally) in high regard? Fire persons, police, nurses, ect...and that shit will keep on rolling down hill once you establish those jobs as turd knocking money suckers as well.
We literally are at a pivotal point, a cross roads. This upcoming Presidential election's results will speak louder than any in our most recent history.
