Will be announced this week. Let the speculation begin...

Mitt Romney has reached a decision on his running mate, his friends believe, and he may disclose it as soon as this week, the New York Times reports.

Meanwhile, Sen. John Thune (R-SD) told The Hill that he's been to Boston to meet Romney's senior advisers and has met Beth Myers, who is leading the search for the vice presidential nominee.

Listening to Ryan speaking...didn't know he had a lisp. When he uses a telepromptor they're gonna have to install a windshield wiper on it. If Cheesy

Wow, I am convinced that Mitt wants to lose this election badly. Ryan basically causes MItt to lose Florida. The only reason I can think of why Mitt picked Ryan is to please the Kock Brothers. Ryan is a Kock man, from Wisconsin and owes his sucesses to the Kock's.
So is MItt now going to flop or flip to the Ryan plan or act like it doesn't exist.
This has been strange election cycle for the GOP. They had a bunch of turds running for the nomination. They elected the one guy who is the most moderate and then trying to make him a Tea Party guy. The other turds that ran had no chance due to they only appealed to the bat shit crazy wing of the Party. The guy who most embodies the conservative ideas, Ron Paul, the right hates.
So they put up Mitt, who does not motivate the base and give him a VP candidate that scares the shit out of old people.

This is Bush/Kerry all over again. A vulnerable president running against a rich asshole, noone likes.

I'm with Nutty. It's like they're putting on a show, but they don't really want to win.  If they do...fine...but it's not like they REALLY want it.  They will beat Ryan over the head with Ayn Rand and use his direct quotes of his oozing love for her. Not a damn thing will be made up.  His make believe budget is a direct reflection of her nutbag guiding hand.

I read the other day they've given up. Waiting until '16 and Jeb. Sounds more and more plausible...

Ouch. Think the Obama PAC's were ready for this one? Pals with Abramoff and DeLay? Attended college on Social Security? Really?

Meet Paul Ryan

From HuffPo:

Quote
One year before DeLay was indicted on conspiracy and money laundering charges, Ryan called the attacks "gutter politics at its worst," according to the Washington Post. And added: "You're going to see a big rallying around Tom."

For that remark, a columnist for the Wisconsin State Journal wrote that Ryan had "put his head in the sand." But Ryan only stepped up his defense of DeLay.

Six months before the indictment, Ryan called the investigation and ensuing public outcry over DeLay "an effort to 'lynch him politically,'" according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Even after a Texas grand jury indicted DeLay on October 3, 2005, Ryan still refused to return $25,000 in donations from the then-former House Majority Leader. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Ryan said he would only return the cash if DeLay was convicted.

Soon thereafter, Ryan, like others in Congress, had to deal with fallout over his ties to Abramoff. In January 2006, the lobbyist pleaded guilty to charges that he committed fraud, tax evasion and engaged in a conspiracy to bribe public officials. Ryan donated close to $2,000 to charity -- the amount he received from a PAC for which Abramoff worked and from the lobbyist personally. Ryan said he wanted "to remove any shred of concern," the Journal Sentinel reported.

the difference is, Mitt has gov's changing voter laws, sec's of Ohio state allowing the counties that voted McCain to vote early and longer.. while the ones with the lines that voted for Obama to only be open from 8-5, no early, no late.. and they're admitting it in open court and at their conventions.. that its all bullshit..and there's not a thing that is being or will be done about it..

and now comes the real money... the real 'hate' ads.. and the real venom..

I'm more worried than ever about Romney winning.. Ryan is the smart Sarah Palin.. the right loves him almost as much as they hate Obama... This one isn't going to be easy and afterwards, when all the voting shit steals the election.. ain't nothing can be done except look at Mitt and say "Yes Mr. President"

That's the part that kills me.  I was talking to a friend today, life long Republican (border line far right) and I asked him point blank if he didn't view all the voter ID bullshit, now that the cats out of the bag on it being a made up problem......as a flagrant abuse of the process....if he REALLY wanted to win, based on heavily tampering with the democratic process?  If it was worth it to shit all over that process to bring one home for the team?

His honest reply?...he didn't see what the big fuss was about.  I'd say it blew my mind, but not really.

of course he didn't, it's his party doing it. I mean, he probably believes Obama got elected with fraud and would get elected again with fraud.. so there is no big deal since you know chi-town politics is manufacturing fake votes and this will stop them from doing it.

and if it prevents 100,000 ppl from exercising what this country is all about in the process? eh, no biggie.

I'm really surprised the media hasn't ripped this one to shreds...

why is Romney lying about Ryan?

Quote
Romney paints Ryan as reluctant Washingtonian - though Ryan spent career in nation's capital

Mooresville, North Carolina (CNN) - On Sunday Mitt Romney painted his new running mate, a seven-term congressman elected at age 28, as a reluctant Washingtonian who put aside his personal ambitions to serve his country.

Ryan's biography, however, paints a different picture of the vice presidential candidate's career.

– Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker

"His career ambition was not to go to Washington. That is not what he wanted to do," Romney said of Rep. Paul Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee. "But he became concerned about what was happening in the country and wanted to get America back on track, and so he put aside the plans he had for his career and said 'I'm going to go and serve.'"

Ryan's career trajectory points to a slightly different version of the candidate's life than Romney offered. After graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 1992, Ryan went to work in Washington as an aide to Sen. Robert Kasten of Wisconsin, whose office he interned in during college.

Ryan also served as a speechwriter for Rep. Jack Kemp early in his career, and worked as a staff member for Empower America, a conservative political group that merged with FreedomWorks in 2004. Ryan was Sen. Sam Brownback's legislative director from 1995-1997. He was elected to Congress in 1998.

I know Mitt likes to pretend he hasn't been in or seeking gov't for 10+ years now.. but Ryan's entire adult like has been a single-Washington track.. I don't get why he feels the need to lie..

(btw, isn't Sam Brownback one of those crazy-winger's from a cpl year ago?)

It's all he's ever done...and he only got two bills passed in Congress. Even during the Bush years. Real accomplished, huh?

Brownback is the crazy anti-abortion governor of Kansas now...
