Nothing like a crazy to shoot fire into a theatre to bring out more crazies. Like Louie Gohmert, possibly (with the exception of Michele Bachmann) the craziest in Congress. WASHINGTON -- Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said Friday that the shootings that took place in an Aurora, Colo. movie theater hours earlier were a result of "ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs" and questioned why nobody else in the theater had a gun to take down the shooter.
During a radio interview on The Heritage Foundation's "Istook Live!" show, Gohmert was asked why he believes such senseless acts of violence take place. Gohmert responded by talking about the weakening of Christian values in the country.
"You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of a derelict takes place," Gohmert said. Of course, ABC had to mistakenly call the guy a Tea Party member. Dumb move, of course, but their piece was full of if's. After reporting ABC's flub Breitbart posted in HUGE LETTERS that the kid was a registered Democrat. Far more definitive than ABC's maybe, possible, could be, perhaps story. Then there were the folks questioning why people brought their 3 month old babies into the movie theatre. Of course, they didn't question how a guy was able to buy combat gear, a gas mask, gas canisters, a bulletproof vest, a crotch protector, two glocks, and a semi-automatic rifle so easily when he obviously was mentally deranged.

yah, I saw the woman with the 3 mos old... she also had her 7(or 9) year old with her.. IDK, I wouldn't have taken them and I would have been pissed as a patron to see the baby.. dark room, loud noises? not exactly baby-friendly.
I don't know what the guy was, other than fucked up. Because of his age, I'm thinking he started showing signs of schizophrenia and the voices told him to do it..
I fully expect the NRA to hold a gun show across the street from the theater next Saturday tho.. since that's what they do when shit like this happens... atleast Heston won't be there to give his infamous' cold dead hands' line..

I would have respect for the NRA, if once, just once...they put out a response that was a truly sorrowful human response of a horrible event like this...instead of using the tragedy to promote their agenda. It's just so fuck'in icky.

As I said...icky...squared.
They've turned it into a religion. They can never say sorry. They can never show regret. They can never be questioned. They can never engage in anything that involves debate, because that would possibly denote fallibility.
A good rational discussion is what we need...no extremists from either side (all pro gun, all con gun)...just rational people, having a rational discussion about a topic that's not going to go away.

Aaron and his dad went to the gun show today. His dad walked up,plopped down some cash and walked out with a glock. No i.d. no s.s. no warrant or felony search no nothing, just a 'thank you very much'..
people are surprised the 'joker' had 6000 rounds of ammo and 3 guns on him... You have to look at them and say "why?" why in the hell would anyone be surprised when it's easier to buy a legal gun than it is to buy sudafed.

How and why guns shows sales are able to circumvent the laws that a gun dealership has to follow, I'll never know.

I thought we had a law against this until I read this: http://www.csgv.org/issues-and-campaigns/gun-show-loophole/Unfortunately, current federal law requires criminal background checks only for guns sold through licensed firearm dealers, which account for just 60% of all gun sales in the United States. A loophole in the law allows individuals not “engaged in the business” of selling firearms to sell guns without a license—and without processing any paperwork. That means that two out of every five guns sold in the United States change hands without a background check.
Though commonly referred to as the “Gun Show Loophole,” the “private sales” described above include guns sold at gun shows, through classified newspaper ads, the Internet, and between individuals virtually anywhere. so I guess Aaron bought his gun from an individual, not a dealer?

no, it was a dealer.. but he was at a gun show not his place of business, so he was a private citizen and at an established, stationary spot, weekly gun show..
nice loophole huh..
