I found this in the comments section after re-watching the Jon Huntsman interview on Colbert.  If I met the person there's a good possibility we might disagree on a few things, but I'd be confident of the fact that there would be mutual respect and an ability to find middle ground.

"Dear Mr. Jon Huntsman,

Your appearance and message on the Colbert Show was a breath of fresh air for today's moderate Republican.

I write you to encourage you to continue to become the voice of today’s Rockefeller Republican – a voice that is so easily drowned out by today’s Conservative and Tea Party extremism.

I am confident in the days ahead that you, like many moderate Republican’s who remotely challenge or disagree with current conservative thought process, will be deemed a liberal. Let me be one of the first to welcome you to the moderate refugee camp, there are a lot of us here.

We are the Republicans who believe that our current President was born in the United States; is not a Muslim-Socialist-Marxist; and respect the office he holds – even though we may disagree on some polices.

We are the Republicans who are embarrassed by the behavior and rhetoric that leads to hyper-partisanship.

We are the Republicans that denounce the hate mongering and bigotry within the party.

We are the Republicans who hold disdain for the filibuster and seek progressive compromise.

We are the Republicans who cringe at a party platform change that seeks to repeal campaign finance reforms and embraces the Super Pac.

The Ryan speech at the RNC simply epitomizes all that is wrong with the party today. If the party needs to lie to conceal their own actions or discredit another’s, there is something intrinsically wrong with the entire platform and the value of their accomplishments.

With the majority of the party truly believing that, “if you are not with us, you are against us,” I honestly do not suspect you can change the party but I do believe it is an argument that has to be had -- and you are the most qualified to lead it.

As you stated the face of the Republican Party is changing and that face is not representative of the ideals held by moderates. By virtue of the party’s actions we have been exiled to the realm of independent voter and subsequently, proudly stand by our ideals and join the ranks of those voters who control the outcome of elections.

It’s time the Republican Party was reminded of the importance of our support.

Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

The Moderate Republican

Bravo!

Huntsman is indicative of what's right with the Republican Party.

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)

Here's the take on it by Fox News contributor and writer Sally Kohn. So as not to give the appearance of bias.  Ailes doesn't do Fair and Balanced, no matter what people think.  When he allows something counter or seems to actually agree with the rest of media (via the shows on Fox)...it's because he's working an angle.  Ms. Kohn is friggin scathing, on foxnews.com.

I was beginning to think that in order to be a good Republican, it meant you could never comprimise.
