It's an amazing insight into his complete disdain for the poor and middle class as well as underscoring his elitism, and most importantly, his will to lie at any cost. Here's some quotes:There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax. [M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.

So are a lot of republicans. Here's a good piece on why those 47% don't pay taxes. Part of the reason so many Americans don't pay federal income taxes is that Republicans have passed a series of very large tax cuts that wiped out the income-tax liability for many Americans. That's why, when you look at graphs of the percent of Americans who don't pay income taxes, you see huge jumps after Ronald Reagan's 1986 tax reform and George W. Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. So whenever you hear that half of Americans don't pay federal income taxes, remember: Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush helped build that.

Ouch. Even David Brooks! http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/18/opinion/brooks-thurston-howell-romney.html?_r=1&ref=opinionRomney, who criticizes President Obama for dividing the nation, divided the nation into two groups: the makers and the moochers. Forty-seven percent of the country, he said, are people “who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to take care of them, who believe they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.”
This comment suggests a few things. First, it suggests that he really doesn’t know much about the country he inhabits. Who are these freeloaders? Is it the Iraq war veteran who goes to the V.A.? Is it the student getting a loan to go to college? Is it the retiree on Social Security or Medicare?
It suggests that Romney doesn’t know much about the culture of America. Yes, the entitlement state has expanded, but America remains one of the hardest-working nations on earth. Americans work longer hours than just about anyone else. Americans believe in work more than almost any other people. Ninety-two percent say that hard work is the key to success, according to a 2009 Pew Research Survey.

In his own crazy way a brilliant way to reiterate the beliefs of much of his tea bagging base. A vote for Obama is a vote to keep redistributing the wealth from you hard working people to those lazy coloreds.

"Mitt Romney continued and claimed that his "job is not to worry about those people" and that he will "never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives." Mitt Romney's message about 47 percent of Americans not paying income taxes is misleading. While 47 percent of Americans pay no federal income taxes, they do pay taxes. The 47 percent pay sales tax, a payroll tax, a gas tax and in many cases, state and local taxes. According to a study by the Tax Policy Center, many of these Americans come from low-income families who don't make enough money at their job to pay federal income taxes. The 47 percent also includes seniors who rely only on their Social Security check and young Americans who are only working part-time to balance with their studies. What is ironic about Romney's statement is that the majority of Americans who don't file for income taxes live in conservative states. According to the Tax Foundation, 9 out of the top 10 states with the highest percentage of Americans who don't file for income taxes are considered "red states." The remaining state, Florida, is a swing state that went overwhelmingly Republican in the 2010 midterms." http://www.examiner.com/article/a-quick-guide-to-why-mitt-romney-s-47-percent-claim-is-misleading-and-wrong-1

NO shit, he is definitely not getting their votes now. He may as well just double down on the TEa Tard logic. My favorite part is how he said he did not want to over expose Ann Romney so people would not get annoyed with her. Spoken like a man who has been banging the same chick for 40 years.

It's clear Romney's brain is directly plugged into the rightwing noise machine. Here are the real facts about who pays taxes and who is "entitled". Needless to say, Romney got it backwards, sideways, forward and down. http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=view&id=3677In addition to alll the other groups who's votes he's lost (women, blacks, gays, youth, messicans, etc) we can now add the elderly who were actually dumb enough to believe all that teabagger logic that he wasn't the one touching their medicare. So all he really has for a voting block now is rich white men and really, really stupid people.
