I read the Wiki and noticed that Dinesh D'souza is a frequent abuser of the technique. I thought there was a reason my bullshit meter pegged itself at about 2 minutes into the 2016 movie. Who would be the best person to moderate a debate to keep these guys on track?

When times up they need to give the moderator a switch to turn off their mic and have the camera go off them to the moderator. I think Steve Kroft from 60 Minutes could hold his own.

I thought Leher would have been.. but I guess not.. maybe Greggory or Williams..? or even Andrea Mitchell.. or Cooper.. oh, the 'inside the actor's studio' guy..James Lipton.. I think he might be awesome at it.. D'souza was on Maher a cpl weeks ago.. he never met Obama, never been in the same room with him, never interviewed him or anything else.. he got his material from looking at pictures and listening to soundbites.. so yeah, he's full of shit..

Actually, I think Lipton would do it really well. He's dealt with every pretentious prick in Hollywood. He could hold his own I think.

that's what I was thinking... and not only could he handle them, unlike the 'real journalist' would who show a deference to a POTUS or a P-candidate and maybe not hound them for an answer.. I think Lipton could and would since he has the experience asking 'esteemed peers' those kinds of unconformable questions..

Exactly. He can be "delicate" but he'll ask the jaw droppers. I saw him on Alex what's-her-name noon show on MSNBC and while (at least to me) I could tell he seemed to be an Obama fan...he was punching him pretty good with commentary when asked a question. After you included him in your remark about moderators, I flashed back to that and was like, "I bet he'd be just a tough, if not tougher on Obama and not allow any shit."
