Well...most of them!

Quote
Texas has long been a hotbed of controversy on immigration issues. And a proposed immigration bill in the Texas state House is sure to raise more than a few eyebrows. The bill would make hiring an "unauthorized alien" a crime punishable by up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine, unless that is, they are hired to do household chores.

Yes, under the House Bill 2012 introduced by a tea party favorite state Rep. Debbie Riddle -- who's been saying for some time that she'd like to see Texas institute an Arizona-style immigration law -- hiring an undocumented maid, caretaker, lawnworker or any type of houseworker would be allowed. Why? As Texas state Rep. Aaron Pena, also a Republican, told CNN, without the exemption, "a large segment of the Texas population" would wind up in prison if the bill became law.

"When it comes to household employees or yard workers it is extremely common for Texans to hire people who are likely undocumented workers," Pena told the news giant. "It is so common it is overlooked."

Jon English, Rep. Riddle's chief of staff explained that the exemption was an attempt to avoid "stifling the economic engine" in Texas, which today is, somewhat ironically, celebrating its declaring independence from Mexico in 1836.

"Excepting household workers from a anti-immigration laws renders the law impotent and self-contradictory, just like the current U.S. immigration policy, of which it is almost a perfect microcosm," legal ethics writer Jack Marshall wrote on his blog. "It guarantees a measure without integrity that sends a mixed enforcement message and does nothing to stop the long-standing deplorable 'we don't want you but somebody has to do those menial jobs' attitude that has paralyzed our immigration policy for decades."

Glad to know that Dubya can rest easy now...knowing the grass will get mowed and dinner will be served tomorrow!

Get rid of those Messicans but not my yard guy or maid. I can't find good help for less than 5 bucks an hour anymore. The bonus is if I don't want to pay them,I will just threaten to call the cops on them and stiff them on the pay. We need to put a wall and shoot everyone but maids and yard guys.
I am so amazed that politicians get away with so much hypocrisy, and the partisan hacks buy it.

I like how you did that.

At the risk of critical thinking and sound logic being described with the dreaded c word, my thoughts are that this story is drug off the slow news shelf day as often as animal tribulations from not practicing safe sex were at one time. UN resolutions are world policy and some of them have been in the shadows long enough to be easily identified as such, like depopulation. I realize that produces immediate c word thoughts potentially but that would be from someone who has bought into the lamestream media's non definition and misuse of the word.

The North American Union, once again is not the fantasy of a bug eating letter bomber, it's in full swing and to not consider these important contextual realities when discussing left/right or hot button bites that have been used thousands of times before, is to be a partial shill to the machine of the news cycle.

Canada, US and Mexico already have sovereignty busting in place(essentially)right there in black in white in the trade agreements. NAFTA and Gatt brought to you by HW and Mayor McCheese. Immigration issues are in my opinion fodder for filler between selling soap. I mean if the same issue has been in the news for 20 years off and on like this doesn't it suggest that people not prone to seeing a conditioning of sorts would pay more attention to something that never gets solved, resolved, land mark legislation reached, i.e. the same as it ever was.

Soon it won't be necessary for me to keep trying to  explain myself but I mention these things not in a way of questioning what you pick as news or meaning any of what are simply my ideas and observations as personal to anyone ever.

If I had found the story on a conspiracy theory blog or in a you-tube video quoting myself as a source, then yeah...

Here's the same story from a newspaper...

That said...this is the BizarroAmerika2011 thread.

That's fucking hilarious.. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa don't fine those rich people for having their illegal workers, fine the poor gen contractor scraping by and having to use 'day labor' instead..

holy shite!  I know I joked the whole 'class warfare' like everyone else.. but i didn't really believe it to be true until very recently.. and this little tidbit just solidified it..

what utter bullshit!!  these illegals house workers/lawn and pool people are killing off jobs for good, honest working Americans..  so what "illegal" is it they plan on banning because they are  taking american jobs? is there an underground lawyer ring of illegals? jugdes? college professors? seriously, who do they want banned if not these types?

The problem is with the greedy business owners and subcontracters who don't give a shit who works with them as long as they have able bodied men working for next to nothing they don't have to pay payroll taxes or unemployment to. They can't outsource the work so they bring the messicans in who want to make an honest wage of $7hr so they can send it home to their poor starving families in Mexico.

.

That's why union-busting's so popular!

yes....yes there is

like a cancer...it is an attack from the inside out...

but as i said....yes...there is a network of people who work diligently to help their own kind out...teaching them what they need to qualify and how to go about qualifying for aid, assistance and anything else the gov has made available...

they are quite organized...and many of them...hatian,cuban,etc

knowingly or unknowingly participating a larger plan of destabilization designed to break our will...

When you consider the amount of Muslim children compared to any other group, it's a matter of time before that starts swaying political clout as it has already begun. I believe it will hurt our European neighbors before us but Anglosaxon's are on the road to extinction. A Muslim majority is not in and of itself a bad thing because of race or religion, unfortunately that religion tends to be not so much with the separation of church and state. As I see it this is also part of the reality that ought to be taken into account when we hear the same thing's over and over and again about immigration.

What the Hell does that have to do with Mexican maids and gardeners?

I hear immigration and think of what it means vs a tired stagnant idea such as immigration is about picking shit out of fields that we don't want to do. The melting pot of who were once in a broad way a majority in this country who generally supported the Judeo-Christian ethic politically(for lack of better words)will cease to be the case as more and more minorities so called, become the larger majority. This inevitability makes a think tanks jr on the subject seem nebulous.

I guess the Republicans in Utah heart their maids and gardeners too!

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/utah-approves-guest-worker-program-illegal-immigrants/story?id=13071198

Quote
Utah could become the first state in the nation with its own guest worker program that would grant permits to undocumented immigrants and allow them to continue living and working in the state legally.
