I posted(some of) this in reply to an idiot saying "face it, Obama won because he's black"

This shows you something. Says something about americans. That america is racist. They vote for a black man because hes the underdog, not because of his experience or goals. He failed, lied about everything, but still won. Watching the news now and people continue to say that a black man in the whitehouse is historic? Why, cause hes black? Who cares about his race? Only racists. Latinos, blacks and women are the most racist people because they are the ones voting for him.

so he won because he's black.. and no other reason except because he's black?

Women didn't vote for him because they want rights to their own bodies, equal pay and not to have their employers tell them that while their company insurance will cover Viagra, it won't cover birth control pills because the owner of the company doesn't believe in paying for stuff like that.

Latinos, who through no fault of their own are here illegally but have maintained stellar academic or even military backgrounds..didn't vote for him because they want a path to citizenship that didn't include 'self-deportation' because really, where would they 'self-deport' to when this country has always been their home.

Gays didn't vote for him because they are tired of being regulated to second-class citizens instead of the Americans that they are. Conservative parents of,brothers, sisters, aunts uncles, grandparents or friends of gays didn't look around and say "You guys have been together for 15 years, you're committed to each other than most hetro couples we know.. you work hard, you care for your community, you pay your taxes and abide by the law.. you deserve equals rights just like the rest of us" and vote for the candidate who offered that civil right.

those adults who are close to retirement didn't vote for him because they don't want a 'voucher' medicare or a privatized SS

Parents didn't vote for him because they like having their kids on their insurance until they are 25 or they need insurance to cover the preexisting conditions they have.

Independents didn't vote for him because they watched their parents republican party get hijacked by extremists with extreme views such as 'legitimate rape'..'6000 year old earth'..'personhood amendments'...'birthers'... There wasn't a backlash from independents for the disdain the republican party has shown Obama over the last 4 years.

They didn't vote for Obama because they don't believe college for their children is 'elitist'..or a form of snobbery..

the majority didn't vote for him because they realize, agree and live by the idea that we are all here in this country together. We rise and fall as one. When NJ is destroyed, the rest of the country turns out to help, when NYC was attacked, we all stood up and did what we could to help. When the rich and the middle is doing well, the rest of the country is doing well also.. They didn't vote for him because they believe in his policies over the others...

He didn't get votes because the opposing candidate pushed himself into a 'severely conservative' pretzel that he could not ever untangle himself from no matter how hard he tried or how many different answers to the same questions he was asked..

nope, it was all because he was black..

I didn't vote for Obama back then or yesterday because he was black. I voted for him because he was better.

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)
